Problem
An error message is dis-
played on the screen during
the boot sequence.
Your Tablet PC appears to
change setup parameters
when you start it.
Video Problems
The display is blank when
you turn on your Tablet PC.
The Tablet PC turned on with
a series of beeps and the
display is blank.
The display goes blank by
itself after you have been
using it.
The display has bright or
dark spots.
Possible Cause
Power On Self Test (POST) has
detected a problem.
BIOS setup changes were not
saved when made and you
exited the setup utility.
Power management timeouts
are set for short intervals and
you didn't see the display go on
and off again.

display to operate.

The Tablet PC has gone into
Sleep or Hibernate mode
because you have not used it for

If the spots are very tiny and
few in number, this is normal
for a large LCD display.

large enough to interfere with
your operation needs.
Possible Solutions
See the Power On Self Test (POST) messages to determine the meaning and severity
of the problem. Not all messages are errors; some are simply status indicators. See
"Power On Self Test Messages" on page 62.
Make sure you select Save Changes And Exit when exiting the BIOS setup utility.
Move the mouse to restore operation. If that fails, push the Power/Suspend/Resume
switch. (The display may be shut off by Sleep mode, Auto Suspend or Video Timeout)
