Ingress Protection and Enclosure Type
As specified by the certification, the enclosure has a
minimum ingress protection (IP) rating of IP54 and an
enclosure type rating of 2.
Note: The enclosure can have a higher IP / enclosure type
rating, but this has not been assessed by CSA. Refer to the
datasheet or, if applicable, the specification drawing.
Identification of Markings Put Into Use
The product may have been provided with markings for
more than one method of protection. The method or
methods put into use must be indicated, by marking the
adjacent box (see Figure A1, items 9 or 10).
The wall of the enclosure may only be 0.8 mm thick. The
method of marking must not dent, pierce or damage the
product enclosure. The use of impact stamps and
engraving is not permitted.

Electrical Connections
The DPS80GC is intended to be used with other electronic
devices connected to a Controller Area Network (CAN)
bus.
Installation of the pressure sensor to '[Ex e]' or Division 2
associated apparatus must be in accordance with control
drawing 129M0507.
Make sure that the voltage supplied at the terminals does
not exceed 30 volts.
The pressure sensor requires approximately 100 mA to
start.
The power consumption of the pressure sensor is less than
1 Watt in normal operation.
To identify the electrical connections, refer to the product
datasheet or, if applicable, the specification drawing.
The electrical connector must meet the requirements of
standards:
•
CAN/CSA C22.2 No 60079-0 and 60079-7 or
60079-15, or CAN/CSA C22.2 No 213, for Canada, or
•
UL 60079-0 and 60079-7 or 60079-15, or UL 121201,
for the United States.
The electrical connection must be made tight and secured
from loosening by vibration.
A guard must be installed to prevent the unintentional
separation of the electrical connector from the pressure
sensor whilst the circuit is energized.
The sensor enclosure must be connected to earth/ground
via the pressure connector. If applicable, make sure the
cable screen is isolated from the pressure sensor.
DPS8### models are resistant to an AC test voltage of
500 V RMS as specified in CAN/CSA C22.2 No 60079-15
and UL 60079-15.
For additional installation requirements, refer also to
"Conditions of Acceptability".

Maintenance
Clean the case with a moist, lint-free cloth and a weak
detergent.
Check that the electrical connections remain securely
fastened.
Refer also to "Installation" and "Repair".
Repair
Do not try to do repairs to this equipment. Return the
equipment to the manufacturer or an approved service
agent.
Conditions of Acceptability
1. The certificate is applicable to the pressure sensor
only. It is therefore the responsibility of the
user/installer to ensure that the sensor is safely
connected to its power supply using cable and a cable
connector that comply with the following criteria:
a. The cable and cable connector shall be physically
suitable for the application, e.g. temperature, size,
corrosion, electrical ratings, etc.
b. The cable and connector shall be suitably certified
for use in Class I, Division 2, and Zone 2
applications, as specified in the Canadian
Electrical Code C22.1 or National Electrical Code
NFPA 70.
2. The input supply shall be a limiting power type
conforming to:
a. Limited Energy Circuit (LEC) as defined in
CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 61010-1 or
ANSI/UL 61010-1, or
b. Class 2 as defined in the Canadian Electrical Code
C22.1 section 16-200, or National Electrical Code
NFPA 70 article 725.121 of NFPA 70, or
c. Limited Power Source (LPS) as defined in CSA
C22.2 No. 60950-1, or ANSI/UL 60950-1.
