Children should eat this food in abundance as it is
the basis of a balanced diet. This includes all energy-
free and low-energy drinks as well as plant-based
foods such as vegetables, fruit, bread, cereal flakes,
pasta, rice and potatoes. This type of food provides
plenty of vitamins and minerals, fiber and secondary
plant substances, but little fat and energy.
This includes animal foods such as milk and dairy
products, meat, sausage, fish and eggs. This food
has a high source of top-quality protein and some
minerals (e.g. calcium, iodine, iron and zinc).
The red group includes high-quality fats and oils
that provide important nutrients, but where the right
choice and quantity are of utmost importance. This
group also includes high-fat snacks food, sweets
and all sweetened foods and drinks. This food is not
needed and should be consumed sparingly due to its
high energy, fat and / or sugar content.
