IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should
always be followed including the following:
1. Read all instructions carefully.
2. To protect against risk of electrical shock, do not put unit, cord or plug
in water or other liquid.
3. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near
children.
4. Unplug from outlet when not in use, before putting on or taking off
parts, and before cleaning.
5. Avoid contacting moving parts.
6. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the
appliance malfunctions, or is dropped or damanged in any manner.
Return appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for
examination, repair or electrical or mechanical adjustment.
7. The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the manufacturer
may cause fire, electric shock or injury.
8. Do not use outdoors.
9. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter or touch hot
surfaces including stove.
10. Check hopper (bowl) for presence of foreign objects before using.
11. Do not use appliance foor other than intended purpose.
12. Do not remove cover until blade has completely stopped rotating.

OTHER CONSUMER SAFETY INFORMATION
WARNING! Shock Hazard: This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade
is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is
intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit
fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a
qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
USING THE COFFEE GRINDER
1. Clean the coffee grinder before
using it for the first time.
2. Hold the plug, and pull it out
slowly in order to release the
stored cord. With the coffee
grinder unplugged, remove the
cover by lifting it straight up.
Place up to 1/2 cup (115 ml) of
coffee beans into the bowl.
3. Replace the cover. Plug the coffee
grinder into a 120 V outlet.
4. Press the grind button. Grind for
10 to 20 seconds, depending on
the quantity of beans and the
desired grind (coarse for
percolators; fine for drip coffee
makers).
NOTE: This coffee grinder will only operate when the Grind Button is
pressed and the cover is in place.

CLEANING THE COFFEE GRINDER
1. Unplug the coffee grinder from the
outlet before cleaning.
2. Carefully wipe the bowl and the
blades with a soft, damp cloth. Be
careful when cleaning around sharp
blades. Rinse and dry the cover.
3. Wipe the outside with a damp cloth.
4. In order to wind the cord for storage
inside the coffee grinder, hold the
bottom of the grinder and turn the
top.

NOTES ON COFFEE:
For optimal flavour, store coffee beans in an airtight container.
Grind the beans immediately before brewing.
The desired flavour and strength of coffee is a personal preference. Vary
the type of coffee beans, the amount of coffee, and the fineness of the
grind in order to find the flavour that you prefer.
Recommended quantities:
Use 3 tablespoons of ground coffee to make 4 cups of coffee
Use 5 tablespoons of ground coffee to make 8 cups of coffee
Use 8 tablespoons of ground coffee to make 12 cups of coffee
