Explanation of Symbols, Inscriptions
The lightning symbol indicates a health hazard, e.g. electric shock.
This symbol indicates specifi c risks associated with handling, function and use.
The "Hand" symbol indicates special tips and operating information.
Safety Instructions
First, read the complete operating manual carefully, as it contains important information
about the proper operation.
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe these safety
instructions! We do not assume any liability for any resulting damage!
We shall not accept liability for damage to property or personal injury caused by incor-
rect handling or non-compliance with the safety instructions! The warranty will be void in
such cases!
• For safety reasons, any unauthorised conversion and/or modifi cation to the product is not
permitted.
• The product is not a toy and must be kept out of the reach of children! There is a life-threaten-
ing electric shock hazard!
• Only connect the wall plug transformer to a normal mains socket connected to the public
supply.
• Before you plug in the wall plug transformer, make sure that the voltage data indicated is
compatible with the mains voltage available. Do not connect the wall plug transformer if the
data doesn't comply with the available mains voltage. The wrong supply voltage may lead to
irreparable damages to the device and involve risks for the user.
• The mains socket must be close to the device and easily accessible in order for the device to
be quickly and easily isolated from the mains power supply in the event of a fault.
• When setting up the product, make sure that the connection cables are not pinched or dam-
aged by sharp edges.
• If the wall plug transformer or its connecting cable is damaged, do not touch it. First, switch off
the power at the mains socket (e.g. with the corresponding circuit breaker), and then carefully
unplug the power supply unit from the mains socket. Do not use the product afterwards, but
take it to a specialist workshop.
• Never touch the mains plug with wet or damp hands. There is danger of a life-threatening
electric shock!
• The product may be used only in dry areas indoors. The product must not get damp or wet as
this may damage it; as well as the danger of a fatal electric shock!
• The product must not be exposed to extreme temperatures, strong vibrations or heavy me-
chanical stress.
• Do not use the device in a tropical climate.
• Never position containers with liquids, such as buckets, vases or plants, on top of the product
or in its vicinity. Liquids may seep into the casing and thus impair the electrical safety of the
device. Furthermore, there is a signifi cant risk of fi re or a lethal electric shock! In such an
event, isolate the mains socket to which the product is connected (e.g. switch off the automatic
fuse) and unplug the power pack from the mains socket. Afterwards, the product can no longer
be used; take it to a specialist workshop.
• If it can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible, the device must be turned off
and precautions must be taken to ensure that it is not used unintentionally. After this, arrange
for an expert to check the product.
Safe operation can no longer be assumed if:
- the product shows visible signs of damage
- the product does not work at all or works poorly (leaking smoke or a smell of burning, audible
cracking noises, discolouration to the product or the adjacent surfaces)
- the product was stored under unfavourable conditions
- it was exposed to heavy loads during transport
• Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around, since it could become a dangerous
plaything for children.
• Disconnect the wall plug transformer from the public power supply when the device is not in
use and before cleaning it!
• If you have any questions that are not answered in this manual, please contact our technical
service or another specialist.
