NIGHT GIG ELITE
BURN HAZARD

Lights may become extremely hot (more than 150°F / 65°C) and the light face (lens) and bevel
may become too hot to touch safely. Do not leave unattended while turned on. Do not set the
lens down when turned on. Do not handle the light until it has cooled.
This light is extremely bright. Do not look directly into the light or shine it in someone's eyes.
Do not hold the lens or bezel against any portion of the human body. Do not place the light
against combustible material or any material that can be damaged by heat. Always use with
adequate ventilation.
BATTERY BURN HAZARD

A lithium battery is volatile. It can explode and burn, causing a fire. Never open a battery, place
it in a fire, expose it to heat above 212°F / 100°C, expose its contents to water, put it in
backwards, or mix it with other battery types. Any of these actions can result in an explosion
and/or leaking, causing personal injury or property damage. Dispose of all batteries properly in
accordance with environmental regulations.

Browning lights are not toys. They are high performance lighting tools that contain batteries and
small parts. Use only under adult supervision. Failure to follow this warning could result in
serious injury or death to the child.
Keep all batteries out of reach of infants and children. Do not allow infants and children to play
with batteries. Do not place batteries in the nose, ears or mouth. If swallowed they may become
a choking hazard and/or may cause electrical and/or chemical burns in the mouth or in the
digestive tract.
If any battery is swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Immediately contact your physician, your
local health care center or emergency care center, the Poison Control Center at 1-800-222-1222
or the National Button Battery Ingestion Hotline at 1-202-625-3333.
OPERATION
This headlamp is powered by either three AAA batteries or by a single rechargeable li-ion battery
cartridge. The li-ion battery cartridge is not included with all models. Do not use other types of
batteries. Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
To insert or remove batteries, open the battery compartment by pulling upward on the flat tab
on the top of the headlamp that is located near the rear edge.
When installing AAA batteries, place the three batteries as shown on the diagram inside the
compartment. When installing the single li-ion battery cartridge, place the cartridge so that
"THIS SIDE UP" is facing outward and the battery cartridge's +/- contacts correspond to the +/-
markings inside the headlamp's battery compartment.
Close the battery compartment. You should feel and hear the flat tab click into place when it is
fully closed.
To turn the headlamp on, push down with your fingertip on the main switch located on top of
the light where the Browning logo is located. To turn the headlamp off, continue pushing and
releasing until all mode/settings have been reached.
There are five different operating mode/settings with this headlamp:
1. High/Wide Angle
2. High/Long Distance
3. High Wide Angle plus High Long Distance
4. Low/Wide Angle
5. Green
To cycle through the operating modes/settings, press the main switch repeatedly until you reach
the desired setting.
This headlamp has a Quick Off feature. When the light has been on any setting for more than
three seconds, the light will turn off the next time the main switch is pushed.
This headlamp has a Last Light Memory feature. When the light has been on any setting for
more than three seconds and is then turned off, it will automatically return to that setting the
next time the light is turned on.
INSTRUCTIONS
HEADLAMP WITH WIDE ANGLE PLUS TECHNOLOGY

This headlamp has an Electronic Battery Lock-Out mode. By using the main
switch, the battery can be locked out so the light will not turn on
accidentally in your pocket or pack.
When the light is "OFF", hold the main switch down for three seconds to
activate the Battery Lock-Out mode. When the Battery Lock Out mode is activated the light will
blink three times. If you now press and release the main switch the light will not turn on.
The light will blink once to indicate that the battery still has a usable charge and that it is in
Battery Lock Out mode.
To disengage the Battery Lock-Out mode, hold the main switch down for three seconds.
The light will then blink three times to indicate it is no longer in Battery Lock Out mode.
RECHARGING THE LI-ION BATTERY
Some models of the Night Gig Elite headlamp include a rechargeable li-ion battery cartridge.
To charge the li-ion battery cartridge, open the battery compartment by pulling upward on
the flat tab on the top of the headlamp that is located near the rear edge. Remove the
battery cartridge.
Insert the micro-USB plug on the USB charging cable into the small charging slot on the back of
the li-ion battery cartridge. Plug the other end of the charging cable into an AC adapter or other
USB power source. The charging indicator light on the li-ion battery cartridge will glow red
when the battery is charging. When the battery is fully charged the charging indicator will
change from red to green.
When charging is completed disconnect the USB charging cable from the power source, then
disconnect the cable from the li-ion battery cartridge. Do not overcharge the battery.
Charging Time: Approximately 2-1/2 to 3 hours when fully depleted from most AC power
sources. Charging from computers, other USB power sources, or solar panels may take
significantly longer.
Battery Life: Approximately 300 cycles.
MAINTENANCE
Keep the headlamp and charging cable dry. Remove the AAA batteries or li-ion battery cartridge
when storing for long periods of time.
