Clothesline Elevator Installation Instructions
A clothesline elevator is designed to be used in conjunction with
a clothesline system to raise and lower it for added drying
convenience.
Before you get started:
You need to purchase a MIBRO Clothesline Kit (or individual
parts and accessories) in addition to the elevator to set up your
new clothesline system.
Steps for installing the MIBRO Clothesline Elevator:
Gather the tools you need for installing the elevator:
• Ladder
• Hammer
• Level
• Pencil
• Drill & ¼" Drill Bit
• Socket Adaptor and 9 mm Socket
• Wire Cutters
• Punch
8) Screw in "J Hook"
(sold separately) on the
opposing post/tree.
9) As a recommendation, attach a "Turnbuckle" (sold
separately) to the J-Hook. The turnbuckle will allow you to
tighten the line when its starts to sag. Sag will naturally
occur as the line stretches with the extra weight
of clothes.
10) Attach the pulley (sold separately) to the J-Hook (if not
using a turnbuckle) or turnbuckle. To prevent the pulley
from twisting, you may want to install an eye hole on your
post/tree lower than the pulley and attach a single strand
of clothesline wire or rope and connect it to the bottom
part of the pulley bracket.
11) After installing the clothesline wire (sold separately),
tighten the line with the pulley on the elevator in the top
(or highest) position. This ensures that the line is tight
when clothes are loaded and pulled to the top position.
12) Connect the clothesline wire with a
mini-winch or joiner-tightener
(both sold separately).
13) You need a clothesline spacer
(sold separately) to hold
the two lines together, thereby
allowing the upper line to
help support the weight on
the lower line. It is
recommended that you place
the spacer on the clothesline
after half the wash has been hung. For longer
clotheslines, more than one spacer is recommended.
