Description
Speedaire® Industrial Hand Crank Hose Reels are ideal for medium duty general
use hand crank applications. Reels are suitable for plant or field use in applica-
tions such as lawn care, pest control, agriculture, greenhouses, car washes,
laboratories, hotels, and tire/truck services.
Unpacking
After unpacking the unit, inspect all components for any damage that may
have occurred in transit. Read the following precautions and instructions
before you begin assembly or using. Failure to comply with these instructions
could result in personal injury or property damage. Keep these instructions in
a convenient location for future reference.

General Safety Information
1. Make sure incoming line pressure does
not exceed maximum rated operating
pressure for your model hose reel.
2. Use proper eye protection when
assembling and using the hose reel.
3. Keep children away from the work area,
a recoiling hose has surprising force.

Installation
Installation of Reel
Note: You must purchase hardware for
mounting your new reel. Decide where you
wish to mount reel before purchasing as
the hardware needed will vary provided
different locations.
1. Match handle to the link lever. Attach
using handle assembly.
2. Apply teflon tape or thread sealant to
swivel valve then thread the valve into
the reel axle.
3. Put the bolts (3/8" or 10mm) through 4
holes in the base of the hose reel and
tighten it to the ceiling, wall, or floor so
that the reel can be fastened into
position.
4. Apply teflon tape or thread sealant to
reel's built in supply hose fitting. Apply
teflon tape or pipe compound to hose
fitting threads. Attach to the reel swivel
valve, then wind the rest of hose through
the reel.
5. Apply pipe sealant to outlet fitting of
hose, then attach to desired tool, nozzle,
or quick connect fitting.
6. To avoid damaging the swivel valve,
make sure to use appropriate wrench to
stabilize the swivel body tightening the
hose fitting. Then attach to desired tool,
nozzle, or quick connect fitting.

Only use flexible
hose to connect reel inlet. Do not use
rigid plumbing.
7. Use soapy water to check connection for
leakage, also check hose reel for correct
operation.
Maintenance and Repair
Swivel Seal Replacement
1. Turn off air supply and carefully release
pressure in hose. Disconnect supply line
from swivel inlet.
2. Remove swivel assembly from reel axle.
3. Remove retainer from swivel and take
apart. NOTE: You may want to remove
swivel from reel hose end but this is not
necessary unless a new swivel is being
installed.
4. Replace the seals and reassemble swivel.
5. Use thread sealant on swivel thread
fitting, reconnect the swivel thread
fitting with axle.
6. Reconnect inlet supply line.
Replacement of Hose
1. Carefully disconnect hose from the axle
of the reel and discard old hose.
2. Feed new hose in drum, use sealant and
connect to axle.
