Installation Instructions for VFS553
For Vertical Mounting of the Lindberg/Blue M Furnace Models
HTF55322, HTF55342, and HTF55347
The VFS series vertical floor stands are shipped with all of the necessary hardware to mount a Lindberg/ Blue M
furnace models HTF55322, HTF55342, and HTF55347.
Refer to the attached drawing and item list for details.
Read these Installation Procedures completely before starting.
Installation Procedure:
WARNING: Lifting Hazard. Unit weighs approximately 120-195 lbs (55-80 kg).
Multi-Person lift or Mechanical hoist lift is recommended. Take adequate safety measures when moving device.
1. Position the furnace and floor stand near their final location. Tools required include 9/16 and 3/4 wrenches, and a flat blade
screwdriver.
2. Attach the floor stand outriggers to the sides of the floor stand rack with the 1/2" hardware provided.
3. Using the screwdriver, remove the rubber feet from the base of the furnace. Mounting may be simplified by removing some
of the lower outer furnace panels.
4. Position the furnace to the floor stand, aligning the holes with those in the vertical frame. Several position sets of mounting
holes are provided on the vertical frame of the floor stand. Select the set that gives the best furnace height.
CAUTION: Recommended to use properly rated mechanical hoist and straps to lift the furnace into position on
floor stand. There are no forklift points on the furnace. Lift points for a vertical lift are at the bottom sides or on the
tube end edges.
WARNING: Do not lift while the lid is unlatched, at the tube openings, or at the furnace handles. May result in
personal injury or damage to furnace.
5. From the 3/8" hardware provided, insert the flat washer between the furnace and the frame. Run the bolt with a lock
washer through the stand, the flat washer and into the nutsert. Install the balance of the hardware.
6. Perform a final tightening of the furnace mounting bolts.
7. Locate the floor stand and furnace assembly in its final location.
8. Level the stand with the leveling feet and outriggers, as necessary.
