Dimmer Switch - Single Pole

WARNING AND CAUTIONS:
• TO AVOID FIRE, SHOCK OR DEATH; TURN OFF POWER AT CIRCUIT BREAKER OR FUSE
AND TEST THAT THE POWER IS OFF BEFORE WIRING!
• Use only copper wire with this device. Do not use with aluminum wire.
• A single branch circuit shall supply the device.
• Use only with permanently installed fixtures with dimmable screw-in compact flourescent, dimmable
screw-in LED, halogen or incandescent lamps.
• To avoid overheating and possible damage to other equipment, do not use to control receptacles,
motor-driven appliances, or low-voltage transformer-supplied appliances.
• For INDOOR use only.
• When used with power output Swidget Inserts, use only appropriate Class 2 connectors with
interconnecting cables.
• Class 2 output connections are not intended for supporting products or appliances.
• If you are not sure about any part of these instructions, consult an electrician.
• Do not exceed total 2.5A - 125VAC rating.
• Use with dimmable CFL/LED or Incandescent.
• Maximum load types:
• LED/CFL = 150W
• Incandescent = 300W
• To be used with a Swidget Insert installed at all times.
• ONLY to be used with APPROVED/CERTIFED Swidget Inserts (see www.swidget.com for current listing
and approved vendors and distributors).
• Use only with listed Inserts designed for use with this dimmer.
• NEMA SSL 7A Compliant.
DESCRIPTION:
The Swidget Dimmer Switch is a modular Smart Home enabled single pole dimmer. The modularity allows a multitude of different functional Swidgets to be installed, creat-
ing unique new Smart Home functionalities. Many of the Swidget Inserts can be used on their own, like a nightlight or USB charger, or they can connect to an ever-growing
number of systems via Wi-Fi, Z-Wave or ZigBee protocols allowing you to control and monitor the Dimmer Switch. Inserts are safely and easily installed/removed from the
body of the Swidget Dimmer Switch without the use of any tools.
INSTALLATION:
1. TO AVOID FIRE, SHOCK OR DEATH, TURN OFF POWER AT CIRCUIT BREAKER OR
FUSE AND TEST THAT THE POWER IS OFF BEFORE WIRING!
2. This device is to be installed in a wall box measuring at least 3"x2"x2.5" (standard single
gang electrical wall box) AND wired in accordance with NEC article 314 box fill requirements.
3. Wire the device as per the wiring diagram provided. Use the wire nuts provided. The wire
nuts can accept three #14AWG wires.
4. Connect device black wire to the hot wire (black) in the wall box.
5. Connect device white wire to the neutral wire (white) in the wall box.
6. Connect device red wire to Light load wire in the wall box.
7. This device must be properly grounded for shock protection. Connect the wall box ground
wire (green or bare) to the device green terminal screw. Tightening torque 2.1Nm (18 lbf-in).
8. Mount device to wall box using the provided screws. Attach wall plate (sold separately) and
then restore power.
DIMMER CONTROLS:
Note: No Swidget Insert is required for Dimmer Switch operation.
The Dimmer supports 3 states:
OFF
ON-Dimmed
ON-Full
From Lights OFF
1. PRESS and RELEASE any button will turn the lights on to the ON-Dimmed level
2. Next PRESS and RELEASE ON will turn the lights from ON-Dimmed to ON-Full
From Lights ON
PRESS and RELEASE OFF will immediately turn the lights off
Light DIMMING Control
With the lights ON:
1. To increase Light intensity by single steps, quickly PRESS and RELEASE the

Set MAX and MIN Brightness Limits
With a light bulb connected to the Dimmer:
1. PRESS and HOLD ON for 5 sec to setup MAXIMUM. Light bulb will flash 3 times. Press OFF to cancel at any time.

2. Adjust with and Buttons
3. PRESS and HOLD ON for 5 sec to setup MINIMUM. Light bulb will flash 2 times.

4. Adjust with and Buttons
5. PRESS and HOLD ON for 5 sec to save new MAXIMUM and MINIMUM. Light bulb will flash 1 time.
Factory Reset MAX and MIN Brightness Limits
1. PRESS and HOLD OFF for 5 sec to reset MAX and MIN. Light bulb will flash 3 times.
BULB REPLACEMENT:
1. Pull out "AIR GAP SWITCH" Tab until the word "OFF" can be clealy seen on the Tab.
2. Remove old bulb(s) and replace with new bulb(s).
3. Press in "AIR GAP SWITCH" Tab until the Tab is flush with the front surface.
