INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR TAP AND
ADD AN APPLIANCE TEE (POL / QCPOL)
Failure to follow these instructions may result in an explosion or fire
that may cause property damage, serious injury or death.
1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS PRIOR TO INSTALLATION AND USE of this Tee. Installation or disconnection of Tee and leak testing must take
place outdoors in a well ventilated area only.
2. DO NOT make modifications to this Tee, if this Tee does not fit return to place of purchase.
3. Examine the Tee for damage. If damaged return to original place of purchase and exchange for a complete new Tee

4. Turn gas "off" at cylinder by turning cylinder valve handle clockwise.
5. Disconnect existing P.O.L. cylinder connection and install Tee only in an open well ventilated outdoor area.
6. Use a properly sized wrench or hand wheel if equipped to remove the existing P.O.L. fitting from the propane cylinder valve outlet.
NOTE: The connection at the cylinder valve is a left hand thread. Turn the nut clockwise to remove the fitting from the cylinder valve
outlet.
7. Remove the plastic thread protector from the P.O.L. fitting of the Tee.
8. DO NOT connect if Tee P.O.L. nipple-O-ring is missing or damaged. Obtain and install a new nipple-O-ring prior to connecting to propane cylinder
valve outlet.
9. Connect the Tee P.O.L. connection to the cylinder valve outlet by turning P.O.L. fitting counterclockwise (left hand thread) until hand tight. Use
wrench or hand wheel to tighten.
10.Reconnect the existing P.O.L. fitting (left hand thread) OR replacement QCC1 fitting (right hand thread) to the QCPOL fitting outlet of the Tee.
Use a properly sized wrench or hand wheel if equipped to tighten.
If you cannot complete either final connection, disconnect the connection and repeat applicable step 9. or 10. If you are still unable to
complete the connection, do not use this TEE. Consult your local propane gas dealer.
11.See Manufacturer's Installation Instructions for Extension Hose connection to the male cylinder thread connection or tap outlet of the Tee.
Note: Keep brass screw on cover in place when male cylinder thread connection outlet is not in use.
CHECK FOR LEAKS
12.Before using your Tee, check all connections for leaks using a mild soapy water solution. DO NOT use matches, lighters or flame to check for
leaks, you could cause an explosion.
13."Slowly" open the propane cylinder valve by turning the handle counterclockwise. Apply mild soapy solution to all connections and look for
bubbles. A expanding bubble or bubbles indicate a leak. Repair all leaks prior to using Tee.
14.If you cannot stop a leak by additional tightening of the connection turn "off" the propane cylinder valve. Disconnect the leaking connection and
re-install as per the applicable steps 9 or 10. Recheck for leaks as per step 13.
To prevent fire or explosion hazard when leak testing:
(1) NO SMOKING. DO NOT use or permit sources of ignition in the area while conducting a leak test.
(2) Conduct leak test outdoors in well ventilated area.
(3) DO NOT use matches, lighters or flame to check for leaks.
(4) DO NOT use Tee until any leaks are corrected
(5) If you are unable to stop a leak, shut-off the propane supply at the cylinder valve. Remove the Tee from the propane cylinder valve
outlet.
(6) Call a Gas Appliance Serviceman or your local propane gas supplier.
NOTE: The male cylinder thread connection is equipped with a backcheck valve that prevents the flow of gas until the connection is made
with the proper hose extension fitting.
DO NOT insert foreign objects into the backcheck valve of the male cylinder connection. If cylinder valve is turned "on" high pressure
gas will escape which could result in an explosion or fire that may cause property damage, serious injury or death.
