INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR PROPANE
BRANCH TEE FITTING WITH QCC1 CYLINDER CONNECTION
Failure to follow these instructions may result in an explosion or fire
that may cause property damage, serious injury or death.
1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS PRIOR TO INSTALLATION AND USE of this Propane Branch Tee. Installation or disconnection of
Branch Tee and leak testing must take place outdoors in a well ventilated area only.
2. DO NOT make modifications to this Tee, if this Tee does not fit return to place of purchase.
3. Examine the Tee for damage. If damaged return to original place of purchase and exchange for a complete new Propane Branch Tee

4. Turn gas "off" at cylinder by turning cylinder valve handle clockwise.
5. Move propane cylinder to an open well ventilated outdoor area prior to connecting the Propane Branch Tee.
6. Connect the plastic coupling nut to the large outside threads on the cylinder valve by holding the tee in one hand and inserting the
guide nipple into the cylinder valve outlet. Hand tighten the plastic coupling nut, clockwise, taking care not to cross thread the
connection.
7. Turn the plastic coupling nut to a full stop.
NOTE: The connection will seal on the internal back check module in the cylinder valve and may result in a slight resistance.
The connection requires about one-half to three-quarters additional turn to complete connection. Tighten by hand only, DO
NOT use tools.
If you cannot complete the connection, disconnect and repeat steps 6 & 7. If you are still unable to
complete the connection, do not use this Propane Branch Tee. Consult your local propane gas dealer.
8. See manufacturer's Installation Instructions for Extension Hose Connection to the male cylinder thread connection outlets of the
Propane Branch Tee.
Note: Keep brass screw on covers in place when male cylinder thread connection outlets are not in use.
CHECK FOR LEAKS:
9.Before using your Propane Branch Tee, check all connections for leaks using a mild soapy water solution. DO NOT use matches,
lighters or flame to check for leaks, you could cause an explosion.
10."Slowly" open the propane cylinder valve by turning the handle counterclockwise. Apply mild soapy solution to all connections and
look for bubbles. An expanding bubble or bubbles indicate a leak. Repair all leaks prior to using Propane Branch Tee.
11.If you cannot stop a leak by additional tightening of the connection turn "off" the propane cylinder valve Disconnect the leaking
connection and re-install as per steps 6 and 7. Recheck for leaks as per steps 9 and 10.
GAS LANTERNS ARE NOT TO BE USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH THIS PROPANE BRANCH TEE.
To prevent fire or explosion hazard when leak testing:
(1) NO SMOKING. DO NOT use or permit sources of ignition in the area while conducting a leak test.
(2) Conduct leak test outdoors in well ventilated area.
(3) DO NOT use matches, lighters or flame to check for leaks.
(4) DO NOT use Propane Branch Tee until any leaks are corrected
(5) If you are unable to stop a leak, shut-off the propane supply at the cylinder valve. Remove the
Propane Branch Tee from the propane cylinder valve outlet.
(6) Call a Gas Appliance Serviceman or your local propane gas supplier.
NOTE: The two male cylinder thread connection outlets are equipped with a backcheck valve that prevents the flow of gas
DO NOT insert foreign objects into the backcheck valve of the male cylinder thread
connections. If cylinder valve is turned "on" high pressure gas will escape which could result
in an explosion or fire that may cause property damage, serious injury or death.
