Emergency light element for LED lamps NF15-A
General information:
The emergency light element must be used in a LED lamp in combination with a LED driver. In mains power operation, the current that is
supplied to the LED module is controlled by the LED driver. In emergency operation, the current for the LED module is supplied by a batte-
ry. The output current is controlled by the emergency light element.
Installation conditions:
The following conditions must be fulfilled in order for the emergency light element to be used in a LED lamp:
1. The current to be supplied to the LED module is direct current provided via two wires +/-.
2. You must use a LED array with an accessible 2 piece-wire bonding and without an integrated current limiting.
3. The LED module must be capable of withstanding a nominal output of 3 Watt. The maximum forward voltage must not exceed 100 Volt.
4. The voltage emitted by the driver must not be higher than 130 Volt. The maximum current flow in mains power operation must not be
higher than 2.5 A.
5. Do not use LED arrays with a grounded electric circuit. They are not suitable because of the system perturbation in emergency mode
which can not be filtered by the SG Device. As a consequence, the EMC limits would be neglected.
Compatibility:
Before inserting a NF15-A LED emergency light element into a LED lamp, compatibility with the LED module must be verified.
Safety:
For installation of the emergency light element, all conditions defined by the lamp must be considered additionally.
e.g. IP protection rate, etc.; all applicable standards and regulations must be adhered with.
