Test Kit Contents
Required for Test Kit use:
• One (1) 9-foot extendable tripod
• One (1) ENGAGE™ Gateway (standard production unit)
• One (1) Gateway power cord (used with the portable
battery pack)
• One (1) portable (rechargeable battery pack
• Two (2) transponders with AA batteries (modified NDE
devices)
• One (1) Gateway tripod mount
Other items:
• One (1) Gateway wall power adapter
• One (1) rechargeable battery pack wall power adapter
• One (1) Gateway wall mounting bracket
• Stick-on numerical labels (1-5) for transponder
identification
• One (1) "Y" power cable to simultaneously charge and
use the portable battery
Set Up a New ENGAGE Test Kit
1. Download the Allegion ENGAGE mobile application.
2. Create a new Survey Test Site.
3. Select a support software (other than ENGAGE).
4. Commission the Gateway and transponders (as NDE
devices) into the Survey test site.
5. Link the Gateway and transponders.
6. Test your setup with Gateway and transponders
nearby.
7. Connect to the Gateway.
8. Perform a site survey with the nearby and linked
transponders.
9. When GREEN results are obtained, your ENGAGE
Test Kit is ready for use at your test site.

Perform a Site Survey
You must have your components (Gateway and
transponders) commissioned, linked, and set up in a PACS
Survey test site before continuing. Have your site plan with
Gateway and access point locations ready. If your kit or
site plan is not prepared, scan the QR code for detailed
instructions before proceeding.
Unpack and assemble the tripod, Gateway and portable
battery. Ensure that the portable battery is fully charged.
1. Turn ON the battery pack to power the Gateway.
2. Wait for the Gateway to initialize (solid blue LED).
3. Place the Gateway in the first test location per your site
plan.
4. Place each transponder on test doors. Make sure
each transponder has good batteries and are placed
correctly (see THIS SIDE AGAINST DOOR on
transponder).
5. Open your survey test site in the ENGAGE app and
connect with the Gateway.
6. Run the Site Survey from the menu provided.
7. If GREEN results are obtained, record the Gateway
and transponder locations. If RED results are obtained,
review the best practices and try again.
8. Move the Gateway location and perform another
survey for remaining Gateway locations in your site
plan.
Best Practices
1. Know the facility construction. Understand long range
facility plans and allow for unfinished construction,
additional furniture, and planned construction issues.
2. Avoid Gateway placements near internet Wi-Fi access
points that will cause signal interference.
3. Gateway to door "Line-Of-Sight" is preferred whenever
possible.
4. Do not exceed 30 feet (10 meters) distance between
Gateway and door/transponder locations.
5. Do not require Gateway to door/transponder
communication between floors of a building.
6. Limit communications requirements through walls or
other obstructions.
7. Do not plan to mount the Gateway on or near any
metal surface.
8. Avoid metal-framed and wire mesh walls.
9. Do not plan to place Gateways in easily accessed and
unsecured areas.
10. Keep the Gateway antenna in its vertical orientation.
