Includes:
• Wheel Chock
Safety & Use:
Never over-tighten wheel chocks. Over-tightening
chocks will damage both tires and chocks, and void
the warranty.
A locking chock is a stabilizing device, not a brake.
Use independent braking devices like blocks or
wedges.
Position the chocks between tandem wheels at the
wheel centerline. (See figure 1.)
Trailer make and model will determine how tight
chock must be to work well. You may find that a
lighter setting works best.
Proper chock performance depends on tire
performance. Check tire pressures and wear
frequently. Tires should be in good condition for safe
chock use.
Tip:
Run the new chock through its full movement range
until it operates smoothly.
Function:
By pressing a fixed distance outward against tandem
wheels, the tandem wheels are "locked" to each
other to create a stable base. The built-in scissors
mechanism allows an operator to create a great deal
of force between the wheels with little effort.
Initial Use:
1) The chock is shipped locked into its narrowest
position. Pull the unit wider. This will expose more
threads below the adjustment nut as the threaded
rod protrudes further.
2) Turn the nut clockwise. Note that this changes the
operating width.
3) Adjust the chock until it fits closely between the
wheels with the handle in the "open" position.
(See figure 2.) In the "open" position, the handle is
perpendicular to the wheel shoes.
Properly adjusted, swinging the handle to the
"closed" position parallel to wheel shoes will easily
tighten and secure the chock. (See figure 3.)
