1.
Remove the battery earth cable.
Remove the shelf.
Remove the floor covering in the boot and the jack.
Put aside the covering near the rearlights at the left and right hand side in the boot.

Model 1998:
Use the grommet which is located at the left hand side behind the tyre in the edge of the ground plate of the boot.
Make a hole in this grommet.
Model 2000:
Drill a 13 mm hole at the left hand side behind the tyre in the edge of the ground plate of the boot.
Put the rubber grommet in the hole.

Route the wiring harness in the boot.
Lead the 8-pole end through the grommet to the socket.
Pull the coverplate over the wiring harness.
Remove the contactholder from the socket and fit the wires as indicated:
Trailer lighting:
Left turn signal
Rearfoglight
Earth
Right turn signal
Right taillight
Brakelights
Left taillight
Rearfoglight
Mount the socket to the towbar.
4.
At both rearlight units 6-pole connectors are located.
Disconnect the connector at the left hand side.
Connect the wiring harnesses connectors with the grey, black, yellow, red and blue wire between this connector.
Lead the other end of the wiring harness to the rearlight unit at the right hand side.
Disconnect the connector at the right hand side.
Connect the wiring harnesses connectors with the green and brown wire between this connector.
Fit the white wire at the right hand side to chassis earth.
5.
Reconnect the battery and check all electric functions, with trailer/caravan connected.
Reinstall disassembled parts.
