Precautions against radiation

To date, scientifi c studies on the potential health risks caused by
high-frequency and low-frequency electromagnetic fi elds have
not proven a distinct causal relationship. However, some studies
have shown indications of possible health risks. As a measure of
precaution, you should use all available technical options to keep
exposure to high-frequency and low-frequency fi elds to a minimum
– especially with babies and infants, who are particularly sensitive.
■ Position the device at least one metre away from the child's bed.
■ In particular, make sure to place the power supply unit as far
away from the child as possible.

Energy-saving options

In addition to the steps that have been taken by the manufacturer
to reduce power consumption, you can further reduce power
consumption by using the device wisely.
■ Remove the power supply adapter from the mains supply/power
outlet when the device is not in use.
■ After completely charging rechargeable batteries, promptly
remove the power supply adapter from the mains/power outlet in
order prevent the power supply adapter from entering stand-by
operation.
■ In order to keep transmissions to an absolute minimum, set the
operation selection switch on the baby unit to "MIC HI", if possible
■ Whenever possible, only charge the rechargeable batteries when
they are completely empty. This helps to prevent them from
experiencing a premature drop in power output, which can cause
them to have to be recharged more often.
