Application
The mains battery device is a surfa-
ce mounted unit accommodated in
a sheet steel housing with automa-
tic battery charger and is used to
ensure the power supply to an
emergency duplex intercom system
for passenger elevators to TRA 200.
Even in case of a power failure, it
permits emergency calls to be made
and speech communication bet-
ween the elevator cabin and a cen-
tral attendant's set.
Inportant notes
!
•
Electrical appliances may only be
installed and assembled by suitably
qualified electricians.
When working with the equipment,
please observe the instructions for
switching off at the mains. Also, the
accumulator fuse must be removed.
•
For building installation, an all-
pole mains switch with a contact
gap of at least 3 mm must be pro-
vided.
•
When connecting via a mains
plug, this must be easily accessible
in order to ensure that it can be
unplugged when work is being per-
formed on the unit.
•
To insert the storage batteries,
first unscrew the retaining brackets.
Insert the storage batteries in such
a way that the connecting lugs for
the plug-in shoes are lying next to
each other, so ensuring that the
provided connectors are long
enough. Rest the retaining bracket
over the storage batteries and
screw it down. The connection bet-
ween the storage batteries and the
electronic charger is created by the
plug-in shoes and wires connected
at one end.
•
Ensure correct polarity:
"red = +".
Connect the two storage batteries
at the other side using the supplied
plug-in jumper.

•
Please observe the standard
DIN EN 60065.
Installation
Conductor materials
Twisted-pair, shielded cable JY(ST)Y
with a core diameter of 0.8 mm
(20 AWG) is required.
Conductor network
The switchboard, power supply
and any ancillary units must be
arranged centrally at the operator's
satation. If the power supply system
is provided on site, the supply line
crosssection to the operator's
station must be confirmed to
ensure that no voltage drop greater
than 0,5 V an occur.
Conductor routing
In order to fulfil the general safety
requirements for communication
facilities as stipulated by 0800, and
in order to avoid interference,
heavy and light current conductors
must be routed separately obser-
ving a minimum distance apart of
10 cm ( 3,9 ins). Also refer to the
respective national regulations.
Mounting
i i
1 Open the housing (releasing the
two screws at each of the narrow
sides) and take off the upper hou-
sing structure.
2 Mark the fastening holes and
attach the unit using four screws.
The cable gland should be at the
bottom.
3 Mount the supplied heavy-gauge
unions in the housing, insert the
cable and tighten.
4 Once the unit has been connec-
ted, replace the upper part of the
housing and screw down.
