4. People wearing hearing aids or ear plugs must remo-
ve the devices and wait 20 minutes before measuring
the temperature.
5. When using the thermometer on infants under age
of 1, pull the ear up making sure the sensor faces the
eardrum. (See Figure E)
6. When using the thermometer on individuals over the
age of 1, pull the ear back making sure the sensor faces
the eardrum. (See Figure F)
7. Do not touch the sensor tip. A cotton swab and rub-
bing alcohol may be used to clean the sensor tip.
8. If thermometer is stored in a significantly different en-
vironment than testing location, place it in the testing
location for approximately 30 minutes prior to use.
Memory mode
1. The Memory Mode can be accessed in two ways:
a) After turning the thermometer on and waiting for the
screen setting as shown in Figure 3, press and hold the
ON/OFF switch. The letter "M" will appear in the upper
left corner of the display. (See Figure G)
b) After measuring the temperature, press and hold the
ON/OFF switch for a few seconds until the letter "M" ap-
pears in the upper left corner of the screen.
2. The thermometer will automatically memorize the last
10 temperature readings. Each time the ON/OFF switch
is pressed, the screen displays past readings that cor-
respond with a number 1-0. The number 1 reflects the
most recent reading while the number 0 reveals the ol-
dest reading stored in memory. (See Figure H)
3. In the memory mode, the ear symbol is always di-
splayed on screen. To take a new measurement, simply
press the TEST Button.
Setting of temperature scale
1. Temperature readings are available in Celsius (°C) or
Fahrenheit (°F) scale.
2. With the device off, press and hold the ON/OFF
switch and continue holding until either °C or °F is di-
splayed on screen as shown in Figure 9.
3. To change this setting to a different scale, release the
ON/OFF switch and wait 1 second until screen displays
data as shown in Fig.C.
4. Press the ON/OFF switch once and the device will
turn off.
