The outer surface of the human body is covered by the skin. Depending on a person's body height, the area
covered by the skin is 1.5 to 1.8m². This model graphically illustrates the different structures of the thick
(ridged) skin and the thin skin and the appendages of the skin (glands, nail and hair). The structures of the
nail and of the hair root are also depicted.
