INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE, MAINTENANCE, AND
CLIPPER OPTIMUM XS670 with battery
Specially designed for large dogs and horses
PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY
BEFORE USING THE CLIPPERS
Important: please follow the guidelines for use
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Before turning on your clippers please read and follow these
instructions carefully. Check that the voltage indicated on the clippers
corresponds to your electrical supply. Your electrical supply should
meet current safety standards and be fitted with a 30 mA circuit
breaker.
- Never submerge the clippers in water and never use in wet places.
- Never use the clippers near a bathtub, shower, or recipients that
contain liquids; if the clippers fall into water and they are connected to
the power supply, unplug the power supply before picking up the
clippers.
- Never use the clippers if they are dropped into water: take the clippers
to the OPTIMUM technical assistance centre for inspection and repair if
necessary:

- If the clippers stop working or do not work correctly, turn them off and
do not open them. Repairs should only be performed at the OPTIMUM
technical assistance centre.
- If the power cable is damaged, it should be discarded and replaced
with an identical model.
- Never use the clippers with a comb that has damaged or missing
teeth near the cutting blades.
- Never use the clippers with wet hands and/or feet.
- Never use the clippers barefoot.
- Never use the extension lead in rooms that are destined for bathing or
showering without taking specific precautions.
- Never pull the power cable or the clippers to unplug it from the power
socket.
- Never allow children or unskilled persons to use the clippers without
supervision.
- Never use the clippers for anything other than the purpose for which it
is designed.
- This machine is not designed to be used by people (including
children) whose physical, sensory, or mental capacities are reduced,
or by anyone without the necessary skills or knowledge, unless they
are specifically monitored or have been instructed in the use of the
machine by somebody responsible for their safety"
- Children should be monitored to ensure that they do not play with
the machine.
NEVER OPEN THE CLIPPER
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
- Before cleaning, turn off the clippers and remove the plug from the
power socket.
- Clean and lubricate using the OPTIMUM "4-in-1" spray (optional);
never use solvents or abrasive products.
- To clean the body of the clippers, use a soft cloth.
- Do not use inappropriate solvents (e.g. cream, greases, etc.).
- To ensure that the clippers last for a long time and continue to
produce a high quality cut, it is advisable to lubricate the cutting head
before and after use with the "4-in-1" OPTIMUM spray (optional) or with
the bottle of oil provided.
TURNING THE CLIPPERS ON
- Make sure the power switch is turned to
« OFF »
- Before each use, lubricate the clippers at
the spots indicated in the illustration 1,
using the bottle oil provided.
- Turn the power switch to position I,
meaning that the clippers are ON.
SAFETY
- The XS670 clippers have one speed.
CHARGING THE BATTERY
- Make sure the power switch is turned to "OFF". Unscrew the cord
connecting the battery at the clipper and connect it to the charger.
- Plug the charger.
- When using the clippers for the first time, the battery must be charged
for 6 hours.
- Depending on the conditions of use, the battery life of the clippers is
around 30 minutes following a charging period of 1.5 hours.
CAUTION
Charging may be compromised by the presence of electrical contacts
that are unclean.
Only recharge once the clippers have started to lose power.
Remove the batteries before discarding the clippers. The batteries must
only be disposed in a designated recycling unit.
ADJUSTING THE CUTTING BLADES
- Before clipping: With the clippers OFF, tighten the adjustable screw
until slight resistance is felt, then tighten another quarter-turn.
- During clipping: If the clippers stop clipping properly, tighten the screw
another quarter of a turn. If this does not improve cut quality, sent the
blades to an Optimum centre for sharpening.
REPLACING THE CUTTING BLADES
- To replace the cutting blades, turn the clippers to "O" (OFF), then
unscrew the screws slightly until the 2 parts of the cutting blades come
free (see 2).
- To replace the cutting blades, position the upper part of the latter into
the 2 guides and lubricate in each of the four corners (see 3), then
position the lower part between the two tightening screws (see 4).
Adjust the cutting blades by adjusting the upper part until it is 2 mm
back from the lower part, then tighten the 2 adjustment screws (see 5
and 2), and lubricate in each of the four corners (see 1).

CAUTION
If the clippers stop working properly after a period of use, it is advisable
to replace the cutting blades or get them sharpened at an Optimum
centre.
Use may be compromised by the presence of electrical contacts that

The clippers are guaranteed for a period of 12 months from the date of
purchase, the guarantee terminates at this time even if the clippers
have not been used. It is therefore advisable to keep the proof of
purchase (receipt and original packaging).
The guarantee is applicable for normal conditions of use and not
intensive, on clean materials with regular maintenance of all parts.
The guarantee covers all mechanical and electrical manufacturing
defects.
The replacement or repairs of parts that are subject to normal wear,
such as the blades, power cable, are therefore excluded.
Any repairs made during the guarantee period do not result in a
prolongation of the latter.
The guarantee is not valid if the machine has been opened or damaged
as a result of negligence, inexperience, or during transport.
The replacements or repairs covered by the guarantee are free of
charge by sending the machine directly, in its original packaging, with
proof of purchase to:
