OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

QUARZ WATCH 901
INTENDED USE
This product is intended for displaying the time and the date.
Always observe the safety instructions and all other information included in these operating
instructions.
This product complies with the applicable national and European regulations. All names of compa-
nies and products are the trademarks of the respective owners. All rights reserved.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Carefully read the complete operating manual before commissioning. It contains impor-
tant information on correct operation. The warranty will be void in the event of damage
caused by failure to observe these safety instructions! We do not assume any liability
for any resulting damage!
We shall not accept liability for damage to property or personal injury caused by
incorrect handling or non-compliance with the safety instructions! In such cases,
the warranty will be null and void.

For safety reasons, any unauthorised conversion and/or modifi cation of the product is not
permitted. Never dismantle the product.

This product is not a toy and does not belong in the hands of children. The product contains
small parts that could be swallowed and a battery.

Do not leave the packaging materials unattended. They may become dangerous playthings for
children.
-
Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental drops, even
from a low height.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR BATTERIES AND RECHARGEABLE
BATTERIES
-
Batteries/rechargeable batteries do not belong in the hands of children.
-
Do not leave batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around; there is a hazard of being swal-
lowed by children or pets. If they are swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.

Leaking or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries in contact with the skin can cause acid
burns; therefore, use suitable safety gloves.
-
Batteries/rechargeable batteries must not be short-circuited, opened or thrown into fi re. There
is a risk of explosion!
-
Do not recharge normal, non-rechargeable batteries; risk of explosion! Only charge recharge-
able batteries that are intended for this purpose; use a suitable battery charger.
-
Check that the polarity is correct when inserting the batteries (pay attention to plus/+ and
minus/-! ).

TIME AND DATE SETTING

Pull the crown (B) into position 2 and set the current time by turning the crown (B). The second
hand stops, in order to allow the seconds to be set correctly.

Pull the crown (B) into position 1 and set the date display (A) by turning the crown (B) counter-
clockwise.
-
Press the crown (B) in the normal position again.
 
If the date is set between 21:00 and 1.00, the date may not change the following day.
CHANGING THE BATTERIES
-
If the watch stops, the battery needs to be replaced.
-
Replacing the battery should be done by a specialist, using special clockmaker tools and
professional knowledge.

To replace the battery, the back of the case is removed.
-
The battery can then be removed from its holder and be replaced.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
To clean the outside of the watch, a dry, soft, clean cloth is suffi cient. For heavier soiling of the
exterior, you can moisten the cloth slightly with lukewarm water.
Clean the watch very carefully; otherwise you may scratch it.
Do not press too heavily on the glass cover, as this can lead to breakage.
SHOCK RESISTANCE
In normal use, the wristwatch is protected against shocks. Nevertheless, do not expose the device
to extreme shocks such as might occur if the device falls onto a hard surface. This might damage
the watch mechanism.

Please take note of the labelling on the watch and its meaning.

SHORTENING THE STRAP

For minor adjustments, move the spring peg on the catch on the strap into another hole.

If larger adjustments are necessary, one or more links can be removed from the strap. To do so,
please contact a clockmaker, who has suitable tools for this kind of work.
DISPOSAL
a) Product
Electronic devices are recyclable waste materials and must not be disposed of in the
household waste!
Dispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statutory regu-
lations.
b) Normal and Rechargeable Batteries
As end user, you are required by law (Battery Regulation) to return used batteries and recharge-
able batteries. Do not dispose of used batteries in the household waste!
Batteries/rechargeable batteries containing harmful substances are marked with the
following symbols, which indicate that disposal in the domestic waste is prohibited.
The symbols of the relevant heavy metals are: Cd=Cadmium, Hg=Mercury, Pb=Lead
(marked on batteries/rechargeable batteries, e.g. under the rubbish bin symbol
shown to the left).
You can return your used batteries/rechargeable batteries free of charge at the offi cial collection
points of your community, in our stores, or at places where batteries or rechargeable batteries
are sold!
You thereby fulfi l your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
