Communication Le Compas advanSea est équipé d’une sortie série 0/5V utilisée pour diffuser les mesures du capteur à l’aide du protocole standardisé NMEA 0183 Version 4.1. 7- Installation Avant d’entreprendre l’installation, prenez le temps de choisir l’emplacement du capteur. En effet, le Compas Fluxgate advanSea, tout comme le compas de route de votre bateau, est sensible aux masses métalliques, aux mouvements du bateau et aux perturbations crées par les appareils électriques. -

Prenez comme référence le compas de route de votre bateau, suivez un cap magnétique plein nord 0° et relevez le cap indiqué par le compas Fluxgate advanSea. Vous déduirez ainsi l’écart entre le compas de route et le cap magnétique affiché... -

Tournez manuellement le compas sur son support afin d’aligner les deux informations. Seul le REPEAT advanSea est en mesure de « calibrer » l’information du compas Fluxgate advanSea. Référez-vous à la notice d’utilisation de votre afficheur REPEAT pour effectuer ce réglage. -

6- Communication The advanSea Compass is equipped with a serial 0 / 5V output used to broadcast sensor measurements using the standardized NMEA 0183 Version 4.1 protocol. The communication speed of this output is set to 4800 bauds. Upon power up, an identification frame $ PADVV is issued. This proprietary frame will allow to check the product firmware version. -

7- Installation Before starting the installation, take the time to choose the location of the sensor. Indeed, the Fluxgate advanSea Compass, just like the steering compass of your boat, is sensitive to the metallic masses, to the movements of the boat and to the disturbances created by the electric devices. -

For this you need to perform a real test at sea with your boat. Take your boat's compass as a reference, follow a magnetic heading north 0 ° and take the course indicated by the Fluxgate advanSea compass. You will deduce the difference between the compass and the displayed magnetic heading: this value is the correction offset of the Fluxgate compass. -

8- Self-compensation 8.1- Self-compensation principle During the first use, after being placed on the boat, it is sometimes necessary to self-compensate the sensor. On some boats, Fluxgate Compass can be strongly disturbed by its environment. Despite careful installation and offset adjustment, there is still a significant difference between the displayed magnetic heading and the actual magnetic heading over the entire measurement range of 0 to 359 °. -
