08 LAUNCHING PROCEDURE
MAKE SURE THAT
/ All drain plugs (especially the rear drain plug) are securely in place.
/ All straps or tie-downs have been removed.
/ Outboard motor has been tilted upwards before sliding boat off of trailer.
/ You step into the center of the fishing boat when boarding, to assure the
fishing boat remains stable (never board by stepping onto the rubrail).
/ Never drag over rocks or sharp objects as this could damage the hull.
/ Always wear a certified Personal Flotation Device (PFD).
09 MOORING/DOCKING
/ Always moor the fishing boat away from rocks and sharp objects.
/ Make sure the motor is raised.
/ Always moor in water sufficiently deep to avoid damaging the hull.
/ Never moor the fishing boat against a dock that is not
equipped with hull-protecting bumpers.
10 TRIM ADJUSTMENTS
/ Different load conditions may require different trim angle settings. When the
drive unit (propeller) is closet to the transom, it will tend to push the bow down
when power is applied. If the bow digs excessively into the water, shift some
of the weight to the stern and / or move the propeller further away from the
transom. On the contrary, if the propeller is too far from the transom, the bow
will rise excessively when power is applied. In this case, move some weight
forward in the fishing boat and / or bring the propeller closer to the transom.
/ Performance depends on the relation between proper weight
distribution, trim angle and engine horsepower.
11 CAUTION
Some water may accumulate between the hull and deck due to rain, extended
wave action, or condensation. This is not a defect. To drain, remove the drain
plug (located at the bow under the rubrail) and tip the fishing boat on its bow.
12 STORAGE
SHORT TERM
/ Insert weather caps in the bow and stern trolling motor sockets.
/ Fishing boat equipped with a navigational stern light;
insert a weather cap in the light base.
LONG TERM
/ Pull the fishing boat out of water.
/ Remove the drain plugs and stand the boat on its bow
to remove any water accumulation.
/ Remove motor, fuel tank(s), battery, swivel seats, cushions, oars or paddles and all
other accessories, empty livewell completely and store these pieces properly
/ Set the boat upside down on a level ground.
/ Cover the fishing boat with a tarp or canvas.
/ Never store the boat on sawhorses or comparable supports.
/ Avoid prolonged, unnecessary exposure to the sun, as this
may damage the fishing boat cosmetics.
13 CARE AND MAINTENANCE
The best way to clean your fishing boat is to wash it with lukewarm water and mild soap.
Do not use harsh abrasives. Regular cleaning will keep your boat looking like new.
Never attempt to paint the boat because it will not stick to the hull.
MODELS EQUIPPED WITH AERATOR PUMP (LIVEWELL):
/ The removable pump sits at the bottom of the livewell on a removable filter which in turn is
snapped onto the base. To access the pump and clean the filter simply twist the filter ¼ turn
counterclockwise. The filter will snap out of the base and expose both the filter and the pump
for servicing and cleaning. To reassemble, align filter with base and twist the filter ¼ turn
clockwise to snap in place.
/ Check to make sure the butt connectors for the wire that leads to the pump are up
and out of water.
