BE RESPONSIBLE!
are! Before going on a trip, read this manual in its entirety and practice using your stove.
WARNING
Always check the connection between the stove and the canister and ensure there are no fuel
leaks before operating the stove.
Double check for leaks before lighting the stove. If you smell gas, hear hissing, or leaks are
found, do not light the stove. Remove the canister and call your MSR retailer or the MSR
Product Service Center for advice.
Protect yourself! Never place your head or body above the stove when lighting or using. Keep
clothing and other flammable things away from the stove too. Clearance to combustibles: Top
4ft/1.2m, side 4ft/1.2m.
Don't disconnect the stove from the canister when the stove is lit or if you are near any open
flames. If you accidentally leave the flame adjuster open, ventilate the area before lighting the stove.
Don't obstruct the flow of exhaust gases or air to the stove.
Always use the stove on a horizontal surface and keep the canister upright.
Don't puncture or incinerate the canister. Don't submerge the canister in hot water or expose
the canister to temperatures above 120˚F/49˚C.
Don't store the stove with the canister connected or store canisters in unventilated areas.
Leaking fuel could cause a fire hazard in your home.
In outdoor conditions, when temperatures are below -24˚C (-10˚F), O-rings might get stiff
and break, resulting in leaking fuel.
Use small diameter cookware (9in./23cm or smaller). Cookware with a large diameter will
cause the canister to overheat and explode.
Don't enclose the canister with a windscreen, doing so may cause the canister to overheat
and explode.
Don't use more than one stove under the same piece of cookware, in close proximity to
another stove, or near any heat, fuel or ignition source.
Always supervise children in the vicinity of stoves. Never allow them to use stoves or leave a
burning/hot stove unattended.
Only use the stove for cooking food and boiling water.
Don't disassemble beyond what is described in these instructions. Don't alter the stove in any
way. And don't use the stove if any parts are missing or broken.
You are about to use a highly flammable gas to cook food.
