Description of Operation
The signal light SHR-12 SL is delivered with a plug-in power supply unit for connection to the 230V house mains. After plugging in the
signal light is immediately ready for use.
Traffic light operation:
The signal light has two red lights (top) and two green lights (bottom). The green lights are switched on permanently and the red lights
are switched off permanently by pressing key 1 of a transmitter. Key 2 is used to permanently switch on the red lights and permanently
switch off the green lights. A tone sequence sounds when a color change occurs.
Additional functions:
Ventilation aid:
Experts recommend to ventilate a room by airing it 3 minutes per hour. In order to remind the present persons the ventilation aid can be
activated.
Keep key 1 pressed for more than 5s to activate the ventilation aid. A tone sequence confirms the activation of the ventilation aid. If the
aeration aid is activated, the signal light starts in the green phase. The green phase signals that everything is ok and lasts 57 min.
Afterwards the signal light changes to the red phase. The red phase signals that the room must now be ventilated and lasts 3 min. The
cycle then starts again. Each change is signalled by a sequence of tones.
The renewed activation of the signal light with a transmitter ends the cycle of the ventilation aid and puts the signal light back into the
traffic light mode.
Switch off:
Keep key 2 pressed for more than 5s to switch off the signal light. Only the lights are switched off. The radio module remains ready to
receive.
Mute:
Keep key 1 and key 2 pressed for more than 5s to mute or reactivate the sound signal when the color of the signal light changes.
Programming transmitters or keys:
In order to learn a transmitter or a key it is necessary to switch from the normal receive mode to a learn mode by specific pressing of
the LEARN/ERASE button. After that a transmitter key has to be pressed in a distance of not less than 1m. The key is located on the
bottom of the housing. Following learn modes are available:
Learn mode I:
Learn a transmitter with acknowledgement of the transmitter signal. Press 1x shortly the LEARN/ERASE key.
To signal this learn mode, a tone sounds once every 2 seconds.
Learn mode II:
Learn a single key with acknowledgement of the transmitter signal. Press 2x shortly the LEARN/ERASE key.
To signal this learn mode, a tone sounds twice every 2 seconds.
Learn mode III:
Learn a transmitter without acknowledgement of the transmitter signal. Press 3x shortly the LEARN/ERASE key.
To signal this learn mode, a tone sounds 3 times every 2 seconds. This feature is only compatible to transmitters
from Version V xx.20.
Learn mode IV:
Learn a single key without acknowledgement of the transmitter signal. Press 4x shortly the LEARN/ERASE key.
To signal this learn mode, a tone sounds 3 times every 2 seconds. This feature is only compatible to transmitters
from Version V xx.20.
Each learn mode returns to normal receiving mode if a valid signal has been received, or if the LEARN/ERASE key is pressed again, or
if the learn- and erase mode is already active more than 30s.
The receiver module may learn up to 60 different transmitter codes. A successful learn process will be signalized by a tone sequence.
Possible causes for failed learn processes are a full list of learned transmitters or the list contains already the transmitter. Check for
error free operation of the receiver by pressing the transmitter buttons desired.
Control several signal lights with one transmitter (control with different keys ):
With a transmitter with more than 2 keys or inputs several signal lights can be controlled. For this purpose, however, the single key
learning mode must be used when learning the transmitter. Two keys or inputs must be learned at each signal light. The green light is
controlled by the keys or inputs 1, 3, 5 and 7. The red lights with the keys 2, 4, 6 and 8.
Example 8-channel handheld transmitter SHT-12 C8D:
• Learn keys 1 and 2 in signal light 1: key 1 sets signal light 1 to green; key 2 sets signal light 1 to red
• Learn keys 3 and 4 in signal light 2: key 3 sets signal light 2 to green; key 4 sets signal light 2 to red
• Learn keys 5 and 6 in signal light 3: key 5 sets signal light 3 to green; key 6 sets signal light 3 to red
• Learn keys 7 and 8 in signal light 4: key 7 sets signal light 4 to green; key 8 sets signal light 4 to red
Note: An individual assignment of the keys is possible at the factory.
Note: The signal light SHR-12 SL is not compatible with the switching operation of the SHT-12 FS. For operation with
the switching mode of the SHT-12 FS a factory configuration is necessary.
