Please read these instructions carefully before installation.
The Thermica heating mat is designed solely for use with terrariums.
The heating mat can be used in the interior of a terrarium, on the rear panel or
the side glass panels as well as underneath the terrarium (see assembly instruc-
tions. The heating mat is equipped with protective earthing and a safety plug for
safety. An integrated safety cut-off function also ensures that the power supply is
interrupted in the event of an emergency due to overheating.
Safety instructions:
• Please check the heating mat for signs of damage before use and do not
switch on if you detect any damage.
• The heating mat must be used as directed and must not be cut to size.
• The heating mat must not be bent, kinked or folded.
• The heating mat must not be covered by other heating mats or heating cables.
• The heating mat must never be exposed to heat radiation.
• The heating mat should not heat more than a third of the floor area so that the
terrarium animals can find spots with a temperature they prefer and withdraw
into unheated areas.
• Use a thermometer to check the temperature of the ground layer and, where
required, adjust the temperature of the heating mat with a thermostat.
• However, the terrarium should never be placed on an insulating layer such
as polystyrene or aquarium foam material, as the bottom panel can get very
warm. The type and thickness of the ground layer can also cause heat to
accumulate and cause the bottom panel to burst.
• Only use the heating mat for the side of the terrarium and not as floor heating
if you are using substrates unsuitable for this combination, such as bark mulch,
expanding humus, coconut chips, beech chips, bark, peat, hemp, cannabis or
aspen substrates. Mineral substrates such as sand or calcium substrates are
safe.
• When changing the ground layer, switch off the heating mat first and leave
it to cool down before cleaning the glass panel with HOBBY Reptix-Health
cleaning spray.
• Make sure that the bottom panel does not come in contact with water when
used underneath the terrarium and the heating is switched on, as otherwise
the temperature difference might cause the panel to burst.
• Make sure that the heating mat surface can not be damaged by animals or
objects.
• The mains plug must not get wet.
• The mains plug must be disconnected before you touch the heating mat or
carry out work in its vicinity.
• Keep heating mats out of the reach of children.
• Do not let the heating mats come into contact with flammable materials or
liquids.
• Use the heating mat only in enclosed rooms.
Installation instructions when used underneath a terrarium:
Pick the area to be heated. The heating mat must be positioned to the underside
of the bottom panel such as to leave an unheated, cooler area for the animals. The
electrical connection should come out at the back of the terrarium. Depending on
the type and thickness of the ground layer, the heating mat reaches its maximum
temperature within 24 hours. Fit the supplied 4 spacers to the corners on the
underside of the terrarium to ensure a cooling air circulation (fig. 1).
Quality information:
Glass panels under tension can burst when subjected to temperatures of around
70 °C. Low-quality glass made in Eastern Europe can burst at even lower tem-
peratures. After production, HOBBY heating mats barely reach a temperature
exceeding 42 °C. This temperature should not cause any problems.
Hint: When keeping diurnal geckos, tortoises, desert reptiles (e.g. banded igua-
nas, thorn-tailed lizards and small monitors) and small ground-living reptiles (e.g.
banded lizards, some chameleons), additional radiant heat from UV light (1) should
also be provided from above. For such species, an adequate supply of Vitamin D 3
should also be ensured by using Reptix Vitamin spray Herbavital or powder HOBBY
Reptix Vital. When keeping snakes (e.g. boas, rock pythons or royal pythons), the
correct air humidity should be maintained so that the snakes can shed their skins
when necessary. A water bowl may be placed in the terrarium in order to increase
the air humidity. Only if all the climatic conditions match their natural environment
will your reptiles display their natural and varied behaviour. The night-time drop in
the terrarium temperature, required for the proper care, can be controlled simply
and effectively by using the HOBBY Biotherm or HOBBY Biotherm pro temperature
regulator. Your specialist retailer will be happy to advise you.

Il tappeto riscaldante Thermica è destinato esclusivamente al riscaldamento di.
Il tappetino riscaldante è utilizzabile all'interno di un terrario, sui vetri laterali o
dello sfondo, oltre che sotto il terrario (si vedano le avvertenze di montaggio).
Per garantire la sicurezza dell'utente, il tappetino riscaldante è provvisto di
messa a terra e di connettore di sicurezza. Inoltre, la funzione integrata di auto-
spegnimento di sicurezza assicura l'interruzione dell'alimentazione di corrente in
caso per surriscaldamento.
Norme di sicurezza:
• Prima dell'uso controllare che il tappetino riscaldante non presenti danni e non
accenderlo se ne costatassero.
• Il tappeto riscaldante può essere utilizzato soltanto nelle dimensioni presenti
all'acquisto e non può essere tagliato.
• È vietato curvare, flettere, o piegare il tappetino riscaldante.
• È vietato coprire il tappeto riscaldante con altri tappetini o cavi riscaldanti.
• Per nessun motivo è consentito esporre il tappetino riscaldante a radiazioni di
calore.
• Il tappetino riscaldante dovrebbe riscaldare un terzo al massimo della superficie
del terreno, affinché gli animali del terrario possano scegliere la temperatura di
loro gradimento, con la possibilità di ritirarsi anche in aree non riscaldate.
• Utilizzando un termometro inserito nel substrato, controllare la temperatura e,
se necessario, regolare il tappeto riscaldante con un termoregolatore.
• Tuttavia, non posizionare in alcun caso il terrario su uno strato isolante come
polistirolo o supporti in espanso per acquari, poiché il vetro del fondo tende-
rebbe a surriscaldarsi. Anche a seconda del tipo e dell'altezza del substrato può
verificarsi un accumulo di calore, con conseguente rottura del vetro.
• Impiegare il tappetino riscaldante solo sui lati del terrario e non come riscalda-
mento per il terreno, se in combinazione si utilizzano già substrati organici
inidonei quali pacciame di corteccia, humus, fibre di cocco, faggio triturato,
lettiere di corteccia, torba, canapa, oppure di trucioli di pioppo. Da escludersi
assolutamente i terreni minerali come sabbia o calce.
• In caso di sostituzione del substrato, innanzitutto disinserire il tappeto riscal-
dante, lasciarlo raffreddare e solo allora pulire la lastra di vetro con l'apposito
spray detergente HOBBY Reptix-Health.
• Quando il riscaldamento è acceso, utilizzo sotto il terrario e evitare il contatto
diretto tra l'acqua e la lastra di vetro riscaldata, che potrebbe frantumarsi per
effetto della differenza di temperatura.
• Il tappetino riscaldante è impermeabile, può funzionare in ambienti umidi uti-
lizzo sotto il terrario e, tuttavia non è consentito il funzionamento subacqueo
• Accertarsi che la superficie del tappetino riscaldante non possa essere dann-
eggiata da animali o oggetti.
• Non bagnare il connettore di rete.
• Estrarre il connettore di rete prima di afferrare o maneggiare il tappetino
riscaldante.
• Tenere i tappetini riscaldanti fuori dalla portata dei bambini.
• Non consentire il contatto fra tappetini riscaldanti e materiali o liquidi infiam-
mabili.
• Utilizzare il tappetino riscaldante solo in ambienti chiusi.
Istruzioni di montaggio in caso di utilizzo al di sotto del terrario:
Scegliere la superficie da riscaldare. Il tappeto riscaldante va posizionato sotto il
vetro in modo da lasciare sempre all'animale una zona fresca e non riscaldata.
Fare uscire il raccordo elettrico dietro al terrario. Il tappeto riscaldante raggiunge
la temperatura massima a seconda del tipo e dell'altezza del substrato solo dopo
24 ore. L'impiego dei 4 distanziatori forniti in dotazione, da applicare sotto il
terrario in corrispondenza degli angoli, permette di creare una circolazione d'aria
rinfrescante (fig. 1).
Avvertenze sulla qualità:
Il vetro può frantumarsi se sottoposto a tensioni causate da una temperatura di
circa 70 °C. Materiali di scarsa qualità provenienti dall'Europa dell'est si rompono
anche in caso di temperature più basse. I tappeti riscaldanti HOBBY raggiungono
appena i 42 °C, temperatura che non crea alcun problema.
Raccomandazione: Per quanto riguarda l´allevamento di gechi, tartarughe ed
animali che vivono nel deserto, con attivitá diurna (per esempio Crotaphytus,
Uromastyx) e piccoli rettili che vivono sul terreno (per esempio lacerta, podarcis
ed alcune anolis), dovrebbe essere predisposto un irradiamento supplementare di
calore proveniente dall´alto, per mezzo di raggi ultravioletti. In relazione a queste
specie di animali, assicuratevi che vi sia una somministrazione sufficiente di vitami-
na D 3 per mezzo delle vitamine Reptix sotto forma di spray Herbavital o in polvere
HOBBY Reptix Vital. In occasione della cura di serpenti (per esempio i boa, i pitoni
delle rocce o i pitoni reali), dovreste assicurarvi che il grado di umiditá dell´aria sia
quello corretto, affinché questi animali possano cambiare pelle senza problemi.
Allo scopo di aumentare il grado di umiditá dell´aria, potete collocare nel terrario
una vaschetta piena d´acqua. Solo quando tutte le condizioni climatiche corris-
pondono a quelle del territorio di provenienza, i vostri rettili, tenuti come animali
domestici, mostrano il loro comportamento vario e naturale. L´abbassamento not-
turno della temperatura del terrario, indispensabile per la cura approppriata degli
animali, puó essere ottenuto facilmente e senza problemi per mezzo del regolatore
di temperature HOBBY Biotherm o HOBBY Biothjerm pro. Il vostro rivenditore vi
presterá volentieri la consulenza necessaria.

Lisez attentivement le mode d'emploi avant installation.
Le tapis chauffant Thermica est exclusivement conçu pour un montage externe du
du terrarium. La natte chauffante peut être utilisée dans un terrarium sur la face
arrière ou les parois vitrées latérales ainsi que sous le terrarium (voir les instructions
de montage). Pour votre protection, la natte chauffante est munie d'une mise à
la terre et d'une prise de sécurité. De plus, une fonction de coupure de sécurité
intégrée assure la coupure de l'alimentation de courant en cas de surchauffe.
Avertissements de sécurité:
• Vérifiez le bon état de la natte chauffante avant de la mettre sous tension.
• Il doit être posé tel qu'il est vendu, et ne pas être découpé. Evitez tout contact
direct du tapis chauffant avec l'eau.
• La natte chauffante ne doit pas être pliée, coudée ou courbée.
• La natte chauffante ne doit pas être recouverte d'autres nattes ou câbles
chauffants.
• La natte chauffante ne doit être exposée en aucun cas à un rayonnement
thermique.
• La natte chauffante doit chauffer au maximum un tiers de la surface au sol
permettant ainsi aux animaux de choisir leur température préférée et de se
retirer dans des zones non chauffées.
• Contrôlez la température au sol avec un thermomètre et réglez si besoin le
tapis chauffant à l'aide d'un thermorégulateur.
• Ne placez en aucun cas votre terrarium sur une couche isolante comme le poly-
styrène ou un support en mousse pour aquarium, car sa vitre pourrait atteindre
des températures extrêmement élevées. Le type et la hauteur du revêtement
de sol peuvent également provoquer une surchauffe et faire éclater le verre.
• N'utilisez la natte chauffante que sur les faces latérales et pas comme chauf-
fage de fond de terrariums si vous utilisez des substrats de fond organiques
inappropriés pour la combinaison tels que le mulch d'écorce, des fibres
végétales compressées, des chips de coco, des copeaux d'hêtre, des substrats
d'écorce, du cannabis de tremble, de tourbe ou d'écorce. Des fonds minéraux
tels que le sable ou le substrat de calcium sont inoffensifs.
• Pour changer la litière de votre terrarium, éteignez tout d'abord votre tapis
chauffant, laissez-le refroidir et lavez la surface vitrée avec le spray nettoyant
Reptix Health de HOBBY.
• Veillez à ne pas exposer la surface chauffée à l'eau: l'utilisation sous le terrari-
um et tout écart de température est susceptible d'endommager le vitrage.
• La natte chauffante est étanche, peut fonctionner en milieu humide mas pas
sous l'eau.
• Assurez-vous que la surface de la natte chauffante ne puisse pas être endom-
magée par des animaux ou des objets.
• La prise de courant ne doit pas être mouillée.
• La prise de courant doit être débranchée avant de saisir ou manipuler la natte
chauffante dans son environnement.
• Tenir les nattes chauffantes hors de portée des enfants.
• Ne pas porter les nattes chauffantes en contact avec des matériaux ou liquides
inflammables.
• Utilisez la natte chauffante exclusivement dans des pièces fermées.
Montage pour une utilisation sous un terrarium:
Choisissez tout d'abord la surface à chauffer. Le tapis doit être positionné de
sorte qu'il reste à l'animal un espace non chauffé, plus frais. Faites ressortir le
câblage électrique par l'arrière du terrarium. Le tapis chauffant peut atteindre
sa température maximale jusqu'à 24 h après son installation, selon le type et la
hauteur du revêtement de sol. En utilisant les 4 intercalaires fournis, à glisser sous
le verre aux quatre coins du terrarium, vous assurerez la circulation de l'air (fig. 1).
Qualité:
A des températures d'environ 70 °C, les vitrages peuvent se fendre, en raison
des tensions exercées par la chaleur. Certains matériaux en verre en provenance
d'Europe de l'Est peuvent s'endommager à des températures plus faibles. Les tapis
chauffants HOBBY qualité et ne dépassent pas les 42 °C. Cette température n'est
pas un risque pour votre vitrage.
Astuce: Dans le cas d'animaux actifs le jour: Geckos, tortues, animaux du désert
(par ex. Iguana à collier, warane épineux) et d'autres petits reptiles vivant sur le sol
(par ex. lézards à collier, lézards véritables, quelques anoles), vous devriez fournir
une source de rayonnement UV supplémentaire par le dessus. Pour ces espèces,
donnez suffisamment de vitamines D 3 Reptix-spray Herbavital ou poudre de vit-
amine HOBBY Reptix Vital. Dans le cas de serpents (par ex. boas, pythons rocheux
ou royal), veillez à maintenir une humidité suffisante de manière à ce que ces
animaux puissent muer sans problème. Pour augmenter l'humidité, vous pouvez
installer une écuelle d'eau. Ce n'est que lorsque toutes les conditions climatiques
correspondent à celles de leur milieu d'origine que vos reptiles présenteront
également leur comportement naturel et varié. Vous pouvez facilement et sans
problème régler les baisses de températures du terrarium nécessaires à certaines
espèces grâce au régulateur de température HOBBY Biotherm ou HOBBY Biotherm
pro . Votre détaillant se fera un plaisir de vous conseiller.
