Install the hardware
Pre-Installation
• Make sure to place the switch near a power source.
• Make sure to keep enough ventilation between the switch and the surrounding objects.
• This product is intended for indoor use only.
• When choosing a location, keep in mind the environmental restrictions. See
Specifications on page 10
• For locations of LEDs and connectors, see Hardware overview on page 9
Note
No software configuration is necessary.
Installation Steps
1. Attach the rubber feet to the bottom of the switch.
2. Fasten the brackets, if needed.
3. Connect a standard network cable to the port labeled NET on the switch.
4. Connect the other end of the cable to a network outlet alternatively via a PC or router.
5. Connect a network cable from the powered devices (network camera) to the switch,
port 1-4.
6. Connect the network cable from the switch to the powered device (network camera).
7. Connect the power cable to the switch.
8. Connect the power cable to a standard AC outlet.
Note
Use only the supplied power adapter to power the switch.
Power Notice
The switch is a power-required device, meaning it will not work until it is powered. Consider using
an UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply) in order to avoid network data loss or network downtime.
