(Windows) To start your Avid editing application, do one of the following:
t
Click Start > All Programs > Avid > Avid editing application.
t
Double-click the Avid editing application desktop icon.
(Macintosh) To start your Avid editing application, do one of the following:
t
Click the alias icon for your Avid editing application on the Dock.
t
Select Go > Applications, and double-click the Avid editing application folder. Then
double-click the Avid editing application file.

Launching the Desktop Video Utility

Use the Desktop Video Utility to configure hardware settings, and view a realtime status display
showing the video connected to your DNxIO inputs and outputs.
To launch the Desktop Video Utility:
(Windows 8) Do the following:
t
From the Start page type 'Blackmagic' and then click the Blackmagic Desktop Video Utility
application. Or launch the Desktop Video utility from the Windows 8 control panel.
(Windows 7) Do the following:
t
Click the Start > All Programs > Blackmagic Design >Desktop Video and click the Desktop
Video utility application. Or launch the Desktop Video utility also launches from the
Windows 7 control panel.
(Macintosh) Do the following:
t
Click Blackmagic Desktop Video in System preferences or launch the utility from your
Applications folder.

Using Desktop Video to Setup the Avid Artist DNxIO

When you first open the Desktop Video Utility, the home page displays your connected hardware
and provides an overview of all video activity on your hardware's input and output connections.
If you are sending a video signal to your input, it will be automatically detected and the format
will be displayed under the Video Input icon.
