force. The trimming string is cut to the correct
length by the knife at the string guard.
Replacing trimming string
- Open the lower coil cover of the string head (11)
by rotating it counter clockwise by a quarter of a
turn. (Fig. 4)
- Remove the used up string coil including the
remaining string.
- Insert the new string coil, pull out 10 cm each
of both strings and fixate them in the provided
gaps. (Fig. 6)
- Now re-insert the new string coil and thread
it through the round metal inserts at the string
head housing. (Fig. 5)
- Now press the lower coil cover and the string
head against each other rotating them clockwise
by a quarter of a turn, the cover engages in the
housing. Now tighten the plastic knob.
Once the device has been started again, the knife
in the protective hood cuts the trimming string
to the correct length.
Maintenance and care
Maintenance and care
Air filter
The air filter should be cleaned after longer
periods of operation. Dust and pollen congest
the pores of the cellular plastic filter. (Fig. 10)
- Remove the cover and wash the filter with soft
soapy water. Attention: Do not use petrol or
solvents.
Dry the filter before re-installation.
Petrol filter
- Use a wired hook to pull out the filter including
petrol pipe from the tank.
- Remove it from the petrol pipe by turning it and
replace it with a new filter. (Fig. 11)

Spark plug setting
If you have repeated difficulties to start the
engine, you must check the gap of the electrodes
on the spark plug. The correct distance between
ignition flag and ignition contact is 0.25"/0.63mm.
(Fig. 12)
- We recommend tightening the spark plug with
a torque of 12-15 Nm using a torque wrench.
- Make sure that the spark plug connector is
correctly attached to the plug.
Carburettor setting
The carburettor has been set to optimal power in
the factory. Please contact an authorised service
centre for improved settings.
Trimming string knife
File the cutting edge of the knife with a file once
you have noticed that the trimming string is no
longer correctly cut after elongation. File in one
direction observing the stipulated angle.
Cleaning
Cleaning
-Use a damp cloth for cleaning the plastic parts.
Do not use detergents, solvents or tipped objects.
- Due to the design of the device, wet grass and
weed gets wrapped around the driving axle
under the string guard during operation. This
grass and weed must be removed; otherwise you
risk overheating the engine due to high friction.
Storage / keeping the device during the winter
The following must be observed to ensure the
trouble-free operation of the trimmer after a
longer period of downtime:
- Empty the petrol tank.
- Start the engine and let it run until it stops.
- Remove the spark plug once the motor has
cooled down.
