SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to
reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons, including the following:
1. Read all instructions.
2. This appliance must be properly installed and located in accordance with these
instructions prior to use.
3. This appliance is intended for adults of legal drinking age. This appliance is not intended
for use by children or by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities,
or lack of experience and knowledge.
4. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used near children. Children
should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
5. To protect against a risk of electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plug, or base in water
or other liquid.
6. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning or maintenance. To unplug,
grasp the plug and pull from the outlet. Never pull from the power cord.
7. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance
malfunctions or has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Supply cord replacement
and repairs must be conducted by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly
qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard. Contact Bartesian Customer Service to
report any malfunction of or damage to the cocktail machine.
8. Do not use outdoors.
9. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter.
10. Only use the bottles provided with your cocktail machine. The use of accessory
attachments not recommended or sold by the appliance manufacturer may cause
injuries.
11. Do not use a broken, chipped, or cracked spirit bottle.
12. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
13. Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect,
put appliance to "Sleep", then remove plug from wall outlet.
14. Water reservoir is for water only. Do not fill with any other liquid. Do not overfill the water
reservoir with water.
15. Use lid handle to open the lid. Do not lift the lid handle when a drink is being prepared.
16. Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
17. CAUTION: The machine has two sharp needles that puncture the cocktail capsule. One
above the cup holder and the other in the bottom of the cup holder. To avoid risk of
injury, do not put your fingers in the removable capsule holder or under lid removable
housing.
18. Use only with the power supply cord provided with the appliance. Do not attempt to use
the power supply with any other products. Replacement and repairs must be conducted
by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a
hazard.
19. Only use cocktail capsules sold or recommended by the appliance manufacturer.
