OPERATOR'S MANUAL
The Clarke Carpet Dryer is used to reduce drying time
on carpets and hard floor finishes.
Note: This machine is intended for commercial use.
OPERATING AND CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Operator Safety Instructions
WARNING:
To reduce the risk of electric shock do
not expose to rain. Store indoors.

flammable vapors, fuels, grain dust,
solvents or thinners.
WARNING:
To reduce the risk of fire, electric
shock, or injury:
1. Use only as described in the manual.

2. Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If appliance is
not working as it should, has been dropped, dam-
aged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, return it to
a service center.
3. Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close
a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or
corners. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
4. Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the
plug, not the cord.
5. Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
6. Do not put any objects into openings. Do not use with
any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair and
anything that may reduce air flow.
7. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body
away from openings and moving parts.
8. Use only on GFCI protected receptacles.
9. The source of electrical supply should be discon-
nected prior to the beginning of any servicing or
cleaning operation.
Grounding Instructions
Follow the instructions below for connection to the power
supply and the electrical ground.
This product must be grounded. If it should malfunction or
breakdown, grounding provides a path of least resistance for
electric current to reduce the risk of electric shock. This
product is equipped with a cord having an equipment-
grounding conductor and grounding plug. (See next column)

The plug must be inserted into an appropriate outlet that is
properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local
codes and ordinances.
WARNING:
Improper connection of the equipment-
grounding conductor can result in a
risk of electric shock. Check with a
qualified electrician or service person
if you are in doubt as to whether the
outlet is properly grounded. Do not
modify the plug provided with the prod-
uct - if it will not fit the outlet, have a
proper outlet installed by a qualified
electrician.
This product is for use on a nominal 120 volt circuit and has a
grounding attachment plug that looks like the plug illustrated
in Fig. 1. Make sure that the product is connected to an outlet
having the same configuration as the plug. No adapter should
be used with this product.

Operating Instructions
Deluxe Model:
1. Position machine. Plug into proper outlet (see Ground-
ing Instructions.)
2. Turn switch to speed desired ( 0 for off, 1 for low, 2 for
medium, and 3 for high.)
3. Turn machine off (0) when finished drying.
4. Unplug machine.
Inspection and Repairs
Take the machine to the nearest authorized repair
location once a year for the maintenance inspections.
To make any repairs, take the machine to the nearest
authorized repair location.
