Choosing RS485 or RS422
to choose whether to use a two-wire bus (RS485) or a
four-wire bus (RS422), adjust jumpers JP3 and JP4. If
these jumpers are not present, the board is pre-
configured for RS485 operation.
With both jumpers facing north, the board is
configured as RS485.
With both jumpers facing south, as per the example to
the side, the board is configured as RS422.
Bus Termination:
The last RS485/422 bus inverter must also act as a
data line terminator.
To enable termination, close JP5, JP1 and JP6 and
leave JP2, JP7 (if present) open in the case of the
RS485 line. Also close JP2, JP7 in the case of the
RS422 line.
