3 Inquiry: set temperature
4 Change: decrease set temperature
5 Change: increase set temperature
Setting the required working temperature:
Use keys 3 to 5 to query or change the set temperature.
The set value is automatically memorized, when you no longer press any keys.
Self optimisation:
If the preset parameters are not sufficient for the purposes required (temperature fluctuates
too strongly above or below the required setting), you can carry out an automatic tuning proce-
dure. First of all set the desired working temperature (e.g. 800° C) according to the instructi-
ons under "Setting the temperature". For this purpose, the kiln must be cold. This function is
triggered by depressing the FNC-key. At first "off" can be read on the display. By depressing the
upper arrow-key it changes to "on" and the automatic tuning procedure begins. This process is
signalised by "tune" and the actual temperature blinking alternately on the display. The control-
ling device then heats up the kiln and memorizes the firing characteristics (heating up rate etc.)
for all subsequent firings. The tuning of the controlling parameters is completed, when the con-
trolling device shows solely the kiln temperature (it no longer blinks).
If the kiln is constantly operated close to the maximum temperature, this shortens the working
life of the heating elements, so please only operate the kiln at the maximum temperature for
long periods, if this is absolutely necessary. Please see "3. Specifications" for the maximum tem-
perature of your kiln.
Do not place a firing pillow (mineral fibre mat) directly on the bottom of the firing chamber, as
this will cause heat to accumulate in the bottom heating system, which in turn will put a strain
on the heating causing it to become defective prematurely.
In order to protect the kiln from damage or soiling, the object to be fired must always be placed
on a ceramic plate in the firing chamber.
When the firing has been completed, extract the mains plug. Do not wind the connecting cable
around the warm kiln.
