• All modifications of the device are forbidden for safety reasons. Damage caused by such modifications is not
covered by the warranty. Never overload the machine!
• Keep the device away from children and unauthorised users.
• Familiarise yourself with the functions of the device before actually using it. Do not allow operation by unqualified
people. Any damage that may occur will most probably be due to unprofessional use of the device.
• When using an extension cord, make sure the wires are at least 1mm². Do not use extension cords on a reel.
• Only use the device for its intended purpose. Using the device in an unauthorised way will void the warranty.
• Always make sure you are in a stable position while using the PRD18V3.
• Make sure you can never touch water, electricity or gas lines while working.
• Do not use the PRD18V3 in the vicinity of flammable vapours and substances.
• Vibrations can damage the arm-hand system. Keep exposure to vibrations as short as possible.
• Check the voltages marked on the rating plate and verify it matches your mains voltage.

3. Specific Safety Instructions

• Remove the battery from the machine during maintenance and when it is not used for a longer period of time.
• Only use the prescribed charger to load the battery. Do not charge other batteries than the prescribed type
(18VDC).
• Only use the charger in a dry environment and a temperature between 10°C and 40°C.
• Only use the charger and battery when both are not damaged.
• Prevent the battery from shortcutting.
• Never attempt to open the battery.
• In case of skin contact with the battery liquid (a solution of 20-30% potassium hydroxide), flush immediately and
abundantly with water. Neutralize with a mild acid like lemon juice or vinegar. In case of eye contact, rinse
abundantly for at least 10 minutes with clean water and consult a physician.

5. Pertaining the Battery
a. Battery Charging
Make sure that the available voltage does not exceed the max. voltage (240VAC). Connect the charging unit
to the mains. The green LED should light indicating the unit is ready to begin charging.
Remove the battery pack (6) by sliding the battery release slider (5) in the direction of the arrow and by
disconnecting the battery from the driver/drill. Slide the battery pack onto the charging adapter respecting the
polarity. The red LED should glow continuously indicating that the battery pack is receiving a fast charge.
After approximately one hour, the red LED should go out. The battery pack is now fully charged and the
charging unit switches to maintenance charge mode. The green LED should now light.
