MODEL 527 SPRAY GUN
PRESSURE-FEED BLEEDER TYPE
CAUTION
SAFETY HINTS - any paints, when atomized with a spray gun,
emerge in a fine spray that is HIGHLY COMBUSTIBLE AND
POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS if there is not sufficient ventilation to
dispel the fumes. Therefore, observe these rules:
Spray in an area where fumes cannot reach any open fire or
flame or pilot lights on stove, heaters or furnaces.
•
Spray where there is sufficient ventilation.
•
Wear a PAINT mask or respirator to avoid inhalation of paint
dust.
•
Do not smoke while spraying.
•
Risk of bursting: do not use pressures greater than 50 p.s.i.
•
Do not remove plastic threads from gun body. removal can
cause serious injury.
•
Unauthorized repairs or teardowns of spray gun will avoid
factory warranty.
•
Disconnect air hose from the spray gun to release pressure
before taking apart any portion of the gun
This spray gun is a pressure-feed, bleeder type designed for use
with smaller continuously running compressors (1/10 - 1/2 hp).
For general purpose use, it can apply a full range of materials
from fast drying lacquers and enamels to slow drying paints of
relatively heavy consistencies. (not recommended for heavy
body latex paints) It comes equipped with an internal-mix
air cap which requires air delivery of 3.0 cfm @ 50 psi, and,
if purchases with a compressor, will be sized to give the best
overall performance. Additional air caps are available (see chart
on parts drawing).
This gun has a lightweight, well-balanced, one piece diecast
aluminum alloy gun body. It features a stainless steel fluid
needle and the fluid tip is constructed of specially hardened
heat treated steel.
Precision-machined gun body and components make this a
highly efficient spray gun with a easily adjusted Combination
fluid and fan control.
GENERAL OPERATION
NOTICE: FLUID NEEDLE PACKING. (key 33) before using
spray gun make sure packing screw (key 34) is tightened
enough to place.
A slight drag on the fluid needle. Check this by triggering the
gun while tightening the packing screw.
When
Properly tightened, fluid needle will operate smoothly and
packing will not leak paint. A drop of oil applied to fluid
Needle at packing will be helpful in attaining smooth action.
PRESSURE FEED - compressed air in the container forces
paint to the fluid tip. This type of spray gun is best for normal
and heavy-bodied paints such as enamels and house paints,
and can also be used with thin lightbodied paints. Internal and
external air caps can be used.
BLEEDER - air flow through the spray gun is continuous, with
only the flow of paint controlled by the trigger. Bleeder operation
is recommended when used with continuously running portable
air compressors.
INTERNAL-MIX AIR CAPS - (see key 2) the air and paint are
mixed inside the air cap. This type of air cap is best for spraying
most normal and heavy-bodied, slower drying paints.
FLUID/FAN ADJUSTMENT - to increase volume of material
turn fluid needle adjusting screw (key 32) counter-clockwise, to
decrease turn clockwise. Increasing volume of material will also
increase fan pattern size when using a fan pattern air cap.
GENERAL SPRAYING INSTRUCTIONS
Surface to be sprayed must be properly prepared and free of
dirt, oil, grease and loose paint.
Check fluid needle packing screw for proper tightness.
DO NOT USE PRESSURE OVER 50 PSI
