5.1 Putting into operation
1. Screw the ground spike to the external plug socket.
2. Find a suitable place and fix the external plug socket with the tip vertically into the earth.
3. Removal of the external plug socket:
Before the external plug socket is taken out of the earth, it has to be disconnected from the
power supply. In addition, all connected power consumers have to be disconnected as well. The
external plug socket must only be pulled out of the earth using the handle.
6 Safety instructions
Important: Observe the following instructions to prevent injuries or property damage.
Operating conditions: The garden plug socket with ground spike is protected against moisture
and splashing water. However, observe that the product is not watertight, and thus operating in
water or near flowing water is not permitted.
Danger: Non-observance causes danger to life due to electric current.
With damages which occur from non-observance of these operating instructions, especially of the
safety instructions and handling, the guarantee is void. Likewise no liability is taken over for
consequential damages. The operating instructions are to be kept safe and to be passed on to any
third parties.
– Don't put the external plug socket in environments which can cause heat to build up, i.e. don't
expose it to direct sunlight, don't operate it when it is covered.
– The external plug socket is only to be connected to a grounded shockproof plug socket which is
fused via a residual current ground fault circuit interrupter with max. 30 mA trip current.
– If the external plug socket has any defects, it must not be operated. It is strictly prohibited to
continue using the rubber cable if its insulation is damaged. It must be replaced by a certified
lead and a plug with the same features.
– It must be guaranteed that the external plug socket is positioned vertically in the firmly secured
earth (the ground spike should be pushed to a sufficient depth in solid earth).
– The garden plug socket with ground spike must only be used in areas in which accumulations
of water cannot occur. The external plug socket must only be put up with a minimum distance of
1m to ponds, streams, etc. to avoid contact of live parts with water.
– Before the external plug socket is repositioned, it has to be disconnected from the mains. In
addition, all connected power consumers have to be likewise also disconnected.
– If the external plug socket should fall over, it has to be ensured that there is no water in the plug
socket before starting operation again.
– The plug sockets must only be opened by a specialist. This type of handling means danger to life
due to electric shock.
– Should the external plug socket fall down from even a low height, it has to be checked for
obvious defects. Before the product is to be operated again, a specialist must check the external
plug socket.
– Never let children near the external plug socket unsupervised. Children underestimate the
dangers of electric gadgets.
– When thunderstorms occur, the external plug socket is to be disconnected from the mains at
once.
