Location
If possible choose a location where the detector is protected against direct
sunlight, which reduces the range. Please note that this is an optical system and
consequently there must be no obstructions between the transmitter and the
detector. Indoors the light however is reflected against walls, floor and ceiling.
Light materials are good reflectors while dark materials are bad ones. Glass will
let the IR light through.
Connection
Connect the detector according to the instructions for each individual receiver.
NOTE! The connection instructions refer to the colours of the detector cable.
Brown lead is plus (+), white lead is minus (-), green lead is signal and yellow
lead is inverted signal. Be careful when connecting the detector to the receiver.
Making the wrong connection may damage the detector. It is not possible to
connect in parallel two detectors on the same connection block. When
lengthening or cutting the detector cable of GL-DP 6, GL-DP 15 and GL-DP 40,
see that the shield (copper strands) does not touch other leads or the circuit
board. Isolate the shield by means of insulating tape!
When lengthening the detector cable EKKX 1x4x0.5 is used. Connect the brown
and white leads as one pair and the green and yellow leads as the next pair.
Maximum 50 m detector cable can be connected.
Note! When mounting the IR-DP OEM the detector casing must be isolated
from electrically conducting material.
Note! Detectors included in this manual can only be connected to IR-receivers
that are programmable and have detector inputs with 4 screws terminal block.
