Safety Instructions
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe
these operating instructions! We do not assume liability for any resulting
damage.
We do not assume any liability for material and personal damage caused by
improper use or non-compliance with the safety instructions. In such cases,
the warranty will be null and void.
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modifi cation of the product is not permitted
for safety and approval reasons (CE). The product should never be dismantled,
except for battery replacement described in these operating instructions.
• Do not use this product in hospitals or medical institutions. Although the outdoor
sensor emits only relatively weak radio signals, these may lead to the malfunction
of life-support systems. The same may also be the case in other areas.
• The product is not a toy and must be kept out of the reach of children. It contains
small parts, glass (display) and batteries.
• The base station is only suitable for dry, enclosed indoor areas. Do not expose it
to direct sunlight, strong heat, cold, damp or wet; otherwise it may be damaged.
• The outdoor sensor is suitable for use in protected outdoor areas. It must not be
used in or under water, this will destroy it.
• Do not leave packing materials unattended. They may become dangerous
playthings for children.
• Handle the product with care, it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental
drops, even from a low height.
General instructions for batteries and rechargeable batteries
• Batteries/rechargeable batteries must be kept out of the reach of children.
• Check that the polarity is correct when inserting the batteries/rechargeable batteries (pay
attention to plus and minus signs).
• Do not leave batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around; they could be swallowed by chil-
dren or pets. If swallowed, consult a doctor immediately, it could be fatal!
• Make sure that batteries/rechargeable batteries are not short-circuited, dismantled or thrown
into a fi re. There is a risk of fi re and explosion!
• Old or fl at batteries can leak liquid chemicals that may damage the device. If not used for a
longer period (e.g., in case of storage), remove the inserted batteries/accumulators.
• Contact of leaking or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries with the skin can cause acid
burns; therefore, use suitable protective gloves.
• Always replace the complete set of batteries/rechargeable batteries. Do not mix batteries/re-
chargeable batteries with different charges (e.g. fl at and half-discharged batteries/recharge-
able batteries).
• Use either batteries or rechargeable batteries; never mix standard batteries with recharge-
able batteries. Always use batteries/rechargeable batteries of the same type and from the
same manufacturer.
Getting Started
www.conrad.com
a) Adjusting the transmission channel on the outdoor sensor
• Open the battery compartment of the outdoor sensor.
Version 08/12
• There is a sliding switch in the battery compartment which you can use to select the transmis-
sion channel (1, 2 or 3) (remove the batteries before doing this). The base station can receive
and display the readings of up to 3 outdoor sensors (one included in delivery, more sensors
can be ordered separately).
Each outdoor sensor must be set to a different transmission channel. If you are using only
one outdoor sensor, move the sliding switch to the position "1".
b) Inserting the batteries into the base station; searching for the signal of the outdoor
sensors
• Open the battery compartment of the base station.
• Insert two "AAA/Micro" batteries, with the correct polarity (observe +/Plus and -/Minus). Close
the battery compartment again.
• Once the batteries are inserted, the base station indicates the fi rst reading of the indoor
temperature in the upper display line.
Afterwards, the base station starts the search for the signal of the available outdoor sensors.
This takes approx. 3 minutes. Do not press any button during this time. Do not move the base
station.
Within this time period, insert batteries into the outdoor sensor(s); see next section.
c) Inserting batteries into the outdoor sensor
• Open the battery compartment of the outdoor sensor.
• Insert two AAA/Micro batteries, with correct polarity (observe positive/+ and negative/-), into
the battery compartment. Close the battery compartment again. Ensure the correct fi t of the
gasket.
• Afterwards, the outdoor sensor transmits the reading to the base station. With each data
package that is transferred, the red LED on the front side of the outdoor sensor fl ashes
briefl y.
d) More information
• If the base station does not show any temperature value of the outdoor sensor after 3 minutes
(instead of displaying the temperature value, there are only dashes in the lower display of the
base station), remove the batteries from the base station and outdoor sensor and repeat the
steps described above.
Alternatively, you can start searching for the sensor by pressing and holding down the "CH"
key on the back of the base station for 3 seconds until the symbol "
fl ashes.
e) Installation and assembly
• The outdoor sensor can be mounted on the wall through its rear opening using a nail, screw
or hook.
The outdoor sensor is suitable for use in protected outdoor areas. It should be placed such
so it is not exposed to direct sunlight, since this can result in a false temperature reading.
Precipitation falling on the outdoor sensor will also lead to a false temperature reading, since
this cools the housing.
Therefore, we recommend you choose the installation place carefully, so the outdoor sensor
measures the correct temperature.
Never dip the outdoor sensor in or under water; this may destroy it!
• The base station can be set up on a level and stable surface using the fold-out support on the
back. Protect valuable furniture surfaces by using a suitable mat to prevent scratches.
Manual Search for Outdoor Sensors
• Press and hold the "CH" button on the back of the base station for 3 seconds until the symbol
"
• The search for the sensor takes 3 minutes. Do not move the base station during this time.
Within these 3 minutes insert batteries into the outdoor sensor(s), if required.
Switching between temperature units °C/°F
Press and hold the "°C/°F" button on the back of the weather station for 2 seconds to switch
between °C (Grad Celsius) and °F (Grad Fahrenheit).
Please note that the base station performs the sensor search only for the 3 minutes.
During this time, insert batteries into all available outdoor sensors.
Each outdoor sensor must be set to a different transmission channel. If you wish
to change the channel number, remove the batteries from the outdoor sensor fi rst,
and then select a different transmission channel. Then, insert the batteries into the
outdoor sensor again.
