Locating the External USB Hard Disk Drive
on Your Desk
Place the External USB Hard Disk drive on a sturdy desk or table that is free
from clutter that could block airfl ow around the unit. The drive is designed
to lie fl at on its rubber feet, or may stand upright using the included stand.
In either orientation take care not to block any air vents. If using the upright
orientation, install so that the ON/OFF button is at the top.

Connecting External USB

Hard Disk
Connecting your External USB Hard Disk drive to a computer is extremely
simple. Follow the steps below.
1 Connect the included AC Adapter to the External USB Hard Disk drive,
and then to a wall outlet using the included power cord.
2 Next press the ON/OFF button on the front of the External USB Hard
Disk drive.
3 Finally, connect the data cable. For USB, connect the included USB cable
from the USB port on the External USB Hard Disk drive to an available
USB port on your computer.
4 The External USB Hard Disk drive will mount automatically, and a new
icon will appear in My Computer (Windows) or a new icon will appear on
the desktop (Mac).
