a) Inserting the batteries into the outdoor sensor
• Open the battery compartment cover (E) on the back of the outdoor sensor.
• Insert two AAA batteries (not included) with correct polarity into the battery compartment of
the outdoor sensor (C) (observe plus/+ and minus/-).
• The outdoor sensor is now ready to use. After the batteries have been inserted, the outdoor
sensor starts to send measured values at intervals of 45 seconds.
• Replace the battery compartment cover.
The outdoor sensor's batteries should be replaced when the
under the symbol on the weather station's LCD display (1).
b) Inserting the batteries into the weather station
• Open the battery compartment (6) on the back of the weather station.
• Insert two AAA batteries (not included) with correct polarity into the battery compartment
(observe plus/+ and minus/-).
• After inserting the batteries, all display symbols will appear briefly on the LCD display (1).
The weather station is ready for use.
• Replace the battery compartment cover.
If the symbol appears above the date in the bottom right corner of the LCD
display (1) on the weather station, the weather station's batteries should be replaced.
In principle, it is possible to operate the product with rechargeable batteries. Due
to the lower voltage (rechargeable battery = 1.2 V, conventional battery = 1.5 V)
and lower capacity of rechargeable batteries, the battery life is shorter compared to
conventional batteries. If you nevertheless wish to use a rechargeable battery, use
a special NiMH battery with a low self-discharge. For best results, we recommend
that you use a high-quality alkaline battery. The use of rechargeable batteries in the
outdoor sensor is not recommended, as their performance is affected by very cold
weather and they will not provide full power.

c) Setting up and mounting
• The weather station can be placed on a level, stable and sufficiently large surface using the
stand (7). A suitable mat should be used to prevent scratch marks on the surface of valuable
furniture.
To ensure optimal DCF reception, the weather station should not be placed next to
other electronic devices, cables and metal objects etc. The weather station and
outdoor sensor should be placed at a distance of about 2 m from sources of
interference. Obstacles that impair radio communication between the two devices,
such as buildings, should also be avoided. The open-air range of the radio signal is
approximately 100 m. This decreases when obstacles are present.
• The sensor can be hung on the wall (click-in on the back) using the hanging bracket with
opening for wall mounting (D), e.g. on hooks, nails or screws. The outdoor sensor should be
fixed to a wall protected from the weather and direct sunlight. It is not suitable for unrestricted
use in fully exposed areas.
• Remove the hanging bracket (D) from the outdoor sensor. Use it as a guide to mark the
screw holes, drill and use appropriate dowels if required due to the surface, and screw on
the hanging bracket (D).
Pay attention when drilling and tightening the screws to ensure that no cables or
concealed pipes are damaged. We recommend that you mount the outdoor sensor
to the left or right of a window so that the sensor's display can be read conveniently.
Choose a location where the sensor is not exposed to direct sunlight, otherwise
it could lead to errors in the measured values. Direct precipitation on the outdoor
sensor should also be avoided.
• After inserting the batteries, click the outdoor sensor back into the hanging bracket (D) using
the retaining grooves.
d) Setting up a communication channel
All controls are located behind the battery compartment cover on the battery
compartment (6, and C). Open the battery compartment cover if you want to
operate the weather station or sensor.
• After the batteries have been inserted, the weather station starts searching for the signal from
the outdoor sensor for 2 minutes; the
flashes on the display. The symbol disappears when the measured values from the outdoor
sensor have been received and the outdoor temperature is displayed on the LCD display (1).
If no values are received, the symbol continues to be displayed without flashing.
• If no signal from the outdoor sensor has been received after approx. 2 minutes, press
and hold the DOWN button (9) on the wireless weather station for 2 seconds to start a
manual signal search. You can repeat this at any later time to manually receive the outdoor
temperature. The temperature display flashes during the signal search. To synchronise the
sending and reception times between the outdoor sensor and the weather station, press the
SYNC buttons on both units (4 and B) at the same time. Use a pointed object, e.g. a ball point
pen, to press the SYNC button on the outdoor sensor.
• You can repeat this synchronization at any time as soon as you notice a difference between
the measured and displayed values.
Do not move the weather station or outdoor sensor during the signal search and do
not press any buttons.
• The signal from outdoor sensor cannot be received when a DCF signal search for the
outdoor sensor is in progress. The same applies vice versa. When the signal search is
started manually, the corresponding automatic search is ended if it is in progress. Pressing
the DOWN button (9) cancels any ongoing DCF signal search, pressing the UP button (8)
ends the outdoor sensor's signal search that is in progress.
e) DCF signal reception
Once the outdoor sensor has been detected, the weather station starts searching for the DCF
signal. During the search for the DCF signal, the synchronisation symbol
not fully display all the radio wave curves.
Do not move the weather station during this search, and do not press any buttons.
When the DCF signal is not received or is not successfully received, the weather
station automatically ends the signal search after 10 minutes. The synchronisation
symbol appears without flashing.
Press and hold the UP button (8) for 2 seconds to end the signal search in progress.
You can start a manual signal search when the automatic signal search is off. Press
and hold the UP button (8) for 2 seconds to start the manual signal search. Press
this button again to start a DCF signal search.
Signal reception may be poor when the clock is placed near to double-glazed
windows, reinforced concrete, coated wallpapers or electronic devices, or when the
clock is placed in a cellar.
