General
The MCS-A primary-switched AS-interface power supply unit is designed for assembly
onto mounting rails in a control cabinet.
The data decoupling network required for AS-Interface is integrated.
This compact AS-Interface power supply unit has been designed in accordance with
international directives and allows operation in all customary single-line-systems worldwide.
Protective functions for overload and overheat guarantee safe operation.

equipment, please read these instructions
carefully before installation and use. They
should be retained for future reference.

Installation in control cabinet
The power supply unit must be installed in vertical position to ensure that the heat loss
is lead off unhamperedly. Cooling of the power supply unit results from natural circulation.
Please consider that the temperature on top of the units is approx. 25°C higher than

underneath the units. If the air circulation is limited, additional airing becomes necessary.

The installation position must conform with the terms of EN 60950-1 topic 4.7 and 4.6.1.
If two or three identical power supply units are being installed side-by-side, it is advisable
to reduce the max. load current by 5 - 10%.

Assembly / Disassembly
AS-Interface
The units are designed for user-friendly assembly on a mounting rail. Assembly is made

by hanging the unit into the mounting rail. Press slightly to the bottom, and the power
supply unit will lock in place. Disassembly can be made both with a screwdriver and by
pressing the top of the interlock-deactivating-means (see fig.).
Commissioning
The unit must be installed and commissioned by specialized staff only. The connections
must be made in accordance with the illustration "commissioning".
