If an output voltage selector switch is not pro- vided, do not use the battery chargner unless the battery voltage matches the output voltage rating of the charger.

    Description & Features 2.1 GENERAL INFORMATION SEC-1250UL (for 12V batteries) and SEC-2425UL (for 24V batteries) are high current, tem- perature compensated 3 Stage Chargers that deliver Bulk Stage Currents of 50A and 25A respectively ensuring a very fast, safe and complete charging of Lead Acid batteries. These chargers can also be used as a Power Supply (Section 8.3) or as a DC UPS (Section 8.4).

    Bulk Stage Current value is reached. When the battery or DC load tries to draw current > the Bulk Stage Current value (50A for SEC-1250UL & 25A for SEC- 2425UL), the charger limits the current to the Bulk Stage Current value and the output voltage of the charger drops and is no longer constant.

  • Page 13 4.3.2 Stage 2 - Absorption Stage Refer to the Charging Curves at (i) Fig 4.1 for SEC-1250UL and (ii) Fig 4.2 for SEC-2425UL 4.3.2.1 General Information: The charger enters Absorption Stage at points “B1” (Voltage Curve) and “B2” (Current Curve) after completion of Bulk Stage (Section 4.3.1).   • Page 14 At voltage transition point “C1” (Voltage Curve in Fig 4.1 and Fig 4.2), the internal out- put voltage of the charger will be raised from (i) 13.5 V to 14.0 / 14.4V for SEC-1250UL or, (ii) from 27.0V to 28.0 / 28.8V for SEC-2425UL.
  • Page 15 4.3.3.1 During this stage, the charger outputs a constant Float Voltage of (i) 13.5V for SEC-1250UL or, (ii) 27.0V for SEC- 2425UL. This helps in maintaining full capacity of the bat- tery and also provides replacement charge to overcome self discharge of the battery. The battery can remain connected in this stage indefinitely without the risk of discharging.

    SECTION 7 | Preparing the Charger for Operation An optional wired Remote Control Panel Model No. 900-RC (Fig 7.4 above) can be or- dered. It comes with 10 meters of RJ-45, 8P8C Modular, Straight cable. It is plugged into the Remote Control Jack (6 in Fig 3). The Remote Control Panel can be used to switch ON / switch OFF the charger and also monitor the charging status of the charger from a remote location.
