Calibration:
• Thermometer is calibrated at the manufacturer. Recalibration not required.
A Clinical summary is available upon request: ASTM laboratory accuracy requirements in the display range of 37º to 39ºC (98º to 102ºF) for IR
thermometers is +/- 0.2ºC (+/- 0.4ºF), whereas for mercury-in-glass and electronic thermometers, the requirement per ASTM Standards E 667
and E 1112 is +/- 0.1ºC (+/- 0.2ºF)
Important Safety Instructions:
The performance of the thermometer may be adversely affected if the following conditions are not met:
• This product is not a toy. Do not allow children to play with it.
• Never use the thermometer for purposes other than body temperature measurement. Please follow the safety
precautions when using on children.
• Never immerse in water or other liquids (not waterproof). For cleaning and disinfecting please follow the instructions in
the "Cleaning and Storage" section.
• Keep the instrument away from direct exposure to the sun and keep it in a dust-free, dry area at a
temperature between 50ºF -104ºF (10ºC -40ºC).
• Do not use if there are signs of damage on the probe tip or on the instrument itself. If damaged, do not
attempt to repair the thermometer! Please contact Summer Infant's Consumer Relations Department.
• Earwax in the ear canal may cause a lower temperature reading. Make sure child's ear canal is clean to ensure an accurate reading.
• The ear thermometer consists of high quality precision parts. Do not drop the instrument.
• Do not expose the digital thermometer to mechanical shock.
