OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Place mill on a hard, flat surface. Make sure ventilation slots are unobstructed.
2. Avoid areas with significant variations in temperature and humidity.
3. Verify existing voltage is 110v-120v. Plug in power cord.
4. Place bowl or container under flour outlet.
5. Turn on mill.
6. Select grind texture setting. For fine flour adjust clockwise until you hear the stones touch,
then back it off slightly.
7. Pour grain into hopper, adjust texture as needed.
8. When finished milling, turn switch off and unplug power cord.
Note: Maximum milling time should not exceed 15 minutes. Allow the mill to cool for a
minimum of 1 hour between uses.
FIRST TIME YOU USE YOUR NUTRIMILL
Mill at least 2 cups of wheat or other hard grain, then discard the flour and clean
the canister. This will eliminate any contaminates the mill may have obtained in the
manufacturing process. Make sure you use clean grain. Your warranty does not cover
foreign object damage from plastics, metals, rocks or any other materials that could get
into the milling heads.
Proper care of your mill will ensure a reliable milling experience for many years to come.
ADJUSTING FLOUR TEXTURE
Turning the adjustment knob will control flour texture.
٠ Turn right (clockwise), for finer flour. (Fig. A)
٠ Turn left (counterclockwise), for coarser flour. (Fig. B)
The adjustment knob can be turned in either direction at any
time while milling. The markings by the adjustment knob may
help you repeat the desired texture.
While you can regrind flour to get a finer texture, we recommend grinding grains on the
preferred setting on the first grind. Note that it is effective to do a very coarse grind on large
legumes, and then run them through the mill a second time to create fine flour.
When adjusting to the finest texture you may hear the sound of the millstones coming in
contact with each other. This is normal and typically will not damage the stones. Making a
slight adjustment to a coarser setting will eliminate that noise.
Under normal conditions, the mill can be turned off while grinding and restarted with grains
in the hopper. If the motor does not spin, quickly turn the mill off. Adjust knob slightly (coun-
terclockwise). Turn mill on and try again. If necessary, empty hopper and remove hopper and
upper stone. For detailed instructions on removing millstones, see page 5.
