Product description
This chapter describes and explains the most important
components of the machine. The machine corresponds
to the current state of the art. The design of the machine
observes all applicable laws, conditions, regulations, ordi-
nances and directives. The design includes all the necessary
safeguards to ensure the highest possible protection against
injury. The used materials, the parts of the equipment and
the production, quality assurance and testing procedures
meet the highest safety and reliability requirements.
2.1
Function of the machine
The machine is designed to grind rail heads. In order to
achieve this function, the machine uses a circular rotating
grindstone which lies on the rail head. The grindstone is
driven by a sound-damped combustion engine mounted on
rubbers to dampen vibrations and reduce the vibrations felt
by the operator. The transmission from the engine to the
grindstone is made using a drive belt.
The machine is mounted on rollers and is kept on the rails
by means of a guide system. The operator can move the
machine along the rail to the left or right in order to increase
the grinding area. An inclination adjustment enables the
inclination of the grindstone and the functional components
of the machine against the rail head to enable the grinding
of the sides of the rail head.
A stand enables the safe parking of the machine at the
workplace without having to lift the machine from the rail.
