uV Display
The center display of the LCD window shows the current UV index when the UVI measure
is turned on. The „UVI" icon appears on the left side of the UV display when it is on.
uV Measurement
The center display of the LCD window shows the current UV index (UVI) and UV Bar
Graph when UVI mode is on. Press the "UV" button to activate the UVI mode; the „UVI"
icon appears on the left side of the display. The UV Bar Graph appears on the right of the
display as 1 to 5 bars (
), depending on current UV level readings. The UV reading and
Bar Graph will update every second. UV mode will automatically switch off after 12 hours.
Please note: the UV sensor on the front of the unit must be exposed to the sun in order
to measure the UV index. Under cloudy conditions or during winter months (when the
sun's rays are weakest), the sensor may mot be able to read the UV index. The clock and
thermometer will still function normally.
uV Bar graph
Developed by the National Weather Service (NWS) and Environmental Protection Ageny
(EPA), the UV index ranks ultraviolet radiation levels on a 1-11 + scale, which can help
determine appropriate sun-protective actions. The higher the UV Index, the stronger the
sun's impact on exposure times and the greater the need to protect skin from the sun's
rays. The UV bar graph on your monitor displays the current UV level.*
