e) Maintain appliances and accessories. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts,
breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the appliance's operation. If
damaged, have the appliance repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly
maintained appliances.
f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges
are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
g) Use the appliance, accessories and tool bits, etc. in accordance with these instructions,
taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the
appliance for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.
h) Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry, clean and free from oil and grease. Slippery
handles and grasping surfaces do not allow for safe handling and control of the tool in
unexpected situations.
5) Service
a) Have your appliance serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical
replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the appliance is maintained.
Wet & Dry Vacuum Safety
WARNING: ALWAYS disconnect from the power supply before opening the unit, cleaning, carrying
out maintenance, or when the unit is not in use .
a) NEVER pull on the power cable to remove the plug from the power point. This could cause
damage to the power cable, the vacuum cleaner and the power point .
b) DO NOT allow the vacuum to pass over the power cable. This could cause damage to the
internal wires .
c) DO NOT vacuum the following items:
• burning matches
• glowing ashes
• cigarette ends
• corrosives
• flammable, combustible or explosive substances
d) Use this product only for the purposes for which it is intended. Other applications may be
dangerous, and lead to serious injury and/or property damage .
e) Take great care when cleaning stairs. Ensure the vacuum is placed on a secure, lower level, to
avoid the danger of the vacuum falling on to the user.
f) Use ONLY genuine Silverline consumables, attachments and spare parts

1000W Wet & Dry Vacuum Cleaner

Intended Use

Portable mains-powered vacuum cleaner suitable for wet and dry cleaning applications around the
home, garage and workshop .

Unpacking Your Tool

• Carefully unpack and inspect your new tool . Familiarise yourself with all its features and
functions
• Ensure that all parts of the tool are present and in good condition . If any parts are missing or
damaged, have such parts replaced before attempting to use this tool

Before Use

WARNING: Ensure the tool is disconnected from the power supply before attaching or
changing any accessories, or making any adjustments .
Assembly
1 . Use the Clips (3) to remove the Motor Assembly (2) from the Tank (7) (image B) and remove the
accessories supplied in the Tank body
2. Turn the Tank upside down and fit the 4 Castor Mounts (9) on the base of the Tank with the screws
provided
3. Holding each Caster Mount in turn push fit the Casters (13) into the Caster Mounts until each
Castor is secure and the tank is level on the floor when turned upright. Be careful not to use
excessive force that could damage the Tank or Caster Mounts
4. For normal vacuuming, the Dust Bag (11) should be fitted. The bag fits over the connector inside
the Tank (image F) . Hold the cardboard collar of the Dust Bag and push onto the connector . For
maximum suction the Filter can be removed when a Dust Bag is fitted
5. Refit the Motor Assembly to the Tank and secure with the Clips
• The foam Filter (10) normally comes pre-fitted. When worn or damaged remove the existing
Filter and fit the new Filter by sliding it gently over the filter frame (image E)
6 . Insert the connector of the Hose (12) to the Hose Socket (6) by aligning the pins of the connector
with the socket and pushing in then turn the connector clockwise
7 . Use the Hose Tubes (16) to extend length of the hose
8 . Fit accessory to the end of the Hose or Hose Tube if required, either the Brush Tool (14) or the
Crevice Tool (15)
Note: Fine dust must not be allowed to enter the motor assembly as it could damage the motor .
Normal household dust, plaster and other fine dust require a Dust Bag (11) to be fitted. For
vacuuming liquid and some larger soft particles (larger wood chippings for example) a Dust Bag is
not required. If the Filter (10) is collecting dust on its surface then a Dust Bag must be fitted. ALWAYS
PROTECT THE MOTOR from fine dust.
Dust extraction
• The vacuum is suitable for dust extraction with portable, bench or floor-mounted power tools that
have a dust port . A small adaptor may be required to match the tool's dust port diameter to the
hose diameter (see specification)
• The power switch of the vacuum is the latching type that will remain in the ON position when
mains power is interrupted . This enables it to be used with 'switchboxes' so the vacuum
starts with the power tool when the switchbox is operated . The vacuum has a power rating of
1000W/4 .3A . If a switchbox is used with the vacuum and a power tool, ensure the switchbox
or the mains socket is not overloaded with the combined power rating value of the vacuum
(1000W/4 .3A) and the power tool .
Wet vacuuming
• For wet vacuuming remove the Dust Bag (11) and make sure the Filter (10) is fitted
Blowing
• Setup as per normal vacuuming except remove the Hose from the Hose Socket (6) and fit to the
rear of the Motor Assembly (image A)
• Blowing may be more effective with the Dust Bag (11) removed
