End piece / Cutting tool
• All gesis ® NRG system components may only be installed, commissioned and main-
tained by qualified electricians.
• Personnel who install, program, operate or maintain this device must have read and
understood these instructions.
• The relevant standards, guidelines, regulations and provisions of the respective coun-
try must be observed.
• Protective measures and mechanisms must correspond to applicable regulations.
• Damaged products may neither be installed nor operated.
• In case of a defect, please return the component to Wieland Electric.
• Never use components from third-party manufacturers. No guarantee shall be offered
for damage resulting from a combination with third-party components.
• Please keep these instructions in a safe place for later reference.
C AUTION
• Use only blue system components for blue 5-pole flat cables (DIMM).
• Use only black system components for green and black 5-pole flat cables (BASIC).
• Only use black components or 5+2 components for green and black 5+2-pole flat cables
(BASIC+).
• No hazardous interchangeability with systems based on IEC 60309, IEC 60320 or IEC
60906 or with national connector and socket systems for home use.
• Interchangeability between installation connector systems from different manufactur-
ers is not automatically prevented by compliance with EN 61535.
• Compatibility with products from other manufacturers cannot be guaranteed.
• Installation connectors do not replace national connector/socket systems for home
use.
• Use only the original tools.
• Unused connectors must be provided with closures in easily accessible areas.
All gesis ® system components are for the distribution of energy and/or data in the indoor
areas of buildings. The end cap closes off and insulates the ends of gesis® 5G2.5/4 mm²
and 5G2.5/4 mm²+2x1.5 mm² flat cables.
1 Contents of Package
The supplied components and cables may neither be changed
nor modified.

Cutting tool (95.300.0600.0)
The blade of the cutting tool is suitable for cutting to length, cutting into or punching flat
cables in a single work step.
2 Function of the cutting tool
1. Ensure that the cutting tool and the blades are clean and free
from residues. If required, clean the cutting tool before use,
see 5 Cleaning.
2. Lay the flat cable at a right angle to the cutting tool within the
marked cutting area on the blade. Note the orientation of the
cable. This is also indicated on the blade.
3. Close the cutting tool completely in order to cut to the desired
length.
4. Ensure a clean and smooth cut. No strands may be left show-
ing!
5. The cutting tool cuts and notches the flat cable in a single
work step.
6. The cable end must now look as it does in the image.

3 Assembly of the end piece
Use the flat cables and end pieces in the following combination:
Flat cable
5G2.5/4 mm²
5G2.5/4 mm² + 2x1.5 mm² BASIC + KNX
(bus with screen)
5G2.5/4 mm² + 2x1.5 mm² BASIC + SIGNAL
(bus without screen)
Only use the end piece after the flat cable has been cut following the steps in the in-
structions.
1. Press the end piece onto the flat cable until it stops.
2. Close both sides of the end piece and press it together tightly so that both detent
hooks audibly and snugly click in place.
3. Check that the end piece is firmly in place by trying to remove it from the flat ca-
ble.
4 Opening the end piece
1. If the end piece comes loose or must be re-assembled,
open both detent hooks one after the other using an ap-
propriate tool.
2. Remove the end piece from the flat cable.
3. Do not reuse the end piece with gel. Only reuse the end
piece without gel if it could be dismantled without caus-
ing damage.
5 Cleaning
The cutting tool must be cleaned at regular intervals to prevent the blades from wearing
prematurely. All cable waste must be removed from the blades in this respect.
