Top-Laser TRUMMY2
The measuring instrument is delivered in a rugged plastic case
with a wireless measurement sensor, a measurement sensor with
cable and a 9 V battery.
For difficult to access locations, the sensor with cable can be used
instead of the wireless sensor.
The Top-Laser TRUMMY2 is a precision instrument for measuring belt
tension.
This measured value can be compared with the nominal value –
specified by the belt drive manufacturer (as a natural frequency in Hz
or a strand force in N). It is dependent on the characteristics of
the drive.
The precision instrument must only be used by qualified personnel.
The measurement can only be carried out with the driven parts
switched off and stationary.
Always measure the belt tension on the longer belt strand midway
between the two drive pulleys, Figure 1.
Measuring procedure:
■
Switch on TRUMMY2.
■
Strike the belt to excite it to natural vibration.
■
Hold the measurement sensor over the drive belt at the centre
of the free strand length, Figure 1. The distance above the belt
should be between 3 mm and 20 mm.
A successful measurement is marked by an acoustic signal.
The display shows the word "Measurement" with the measured
value in Hz.
